I’ve just done the same thing but used a Shelly ProEM 50 which is din-rail mounted so looks better when placed next to the contactor and has external CT’s for load measuring, but costs a bit more. Completely agree about what wind and solar are doing for the grid and the insanity of Germany shutting down it’s nuclear plants. If everyone’s hot water tank was able to turn on when it was windy or sunny then that would at least would help the situation. But since there is no direct technical solution available that I am aware of, we will have to do it via variable pricing.
