I just KNEW with Samuel L. Jackson narrating there would be details of racism, segregation, and racial injustice. I find it so fascinating how no one wants to talk about or touch the subject. IT'S THE SOUTH!!! There is no way around the fact that once upon a time this golf course DID NOT allow black folks in the door unless they worked there serving white folks.

I'm retired and living in the Philippines now, but I was born in Pinehurst. When I was a toddler, my dad was a security guard at the old Hall of Fame, which sat behind the 4th green and 5th tee of No. 2 course. At age 4, the 4th green was the first piece of ground upon which I ever putted a golf ball into a hole. No matter where I travel in this world, the smell of freshly-cut Burmuda grass mixed with long-leaf pine needles is always in my nostrils. See you soon, Pinehurst. Thank you, Samuel L. Jackson.

Let me tell you why there have never been an movie about the airborne. "They" are terrified of showing what you guys go through. AND what you fight for, they can't show because then they would have to show how "they" don't like seeing you do the impossible. If I were to name anyone as super heroes, it would be paratroopers, and you, Army airborne. God bless all of you, the US military, and America.

Nothing about this course looks natural. Alister MacKenzie and guys like Pete Dye would hate it.

What about any Pete Dye course was natural? I understand your point regarding Mackenzie but not sure Dye fits the bill there

As Sherrif Tiesel (played by Brian Dennehy) said to Rambo in First Blood, "boring, and that's how us hillbilly hicks like it here, boring. There's a diner about 20 miles north of here in Carthage, you can eat there." Just pulling your leg of course but I hear ya. They need to open up night golf down here so we can play 24 / 7. Then it won't be boring.

Bro is thoroughly wasted. Thoroughly and yet has the composure of a legend. The slightest crown slur 3 bottles deep and still not only standing but finished his game barefoot and probably won. One of the greatest in history 🇺🇸

Hogan found his game that year. Then came World War 2 and Hogan Snead and others were serving their country in the military. Majors were cancelled for four years. That is 16 missed majors. If Hogan would have won 3 majors he would have 12 majors total. After the war all americans missed the British open because of a scheduling conflict with the PGA. Hogan played once and won. That is 14 missed majors for Hogan. If Hogan won 3 of those added to the WW2 missed majors he would have as many majors as Tiger. .
