Started with Mum in Berkeley where could be heard Dead, Phoebe Snow, Aretha, but at 10 went to live with me Dad in Oakland 🤩 That’s where Dub, along with Funk, Soul, R&B boomed down the street on weekends 🔥 Walking around Telegraph doing shopping and slipping into groove-trance. Ganja smoke and the smell of spiced fish frying thick in the air- winos at the corner store talking shit- dabbing up my Dad “What’s up B L O O D ?” Late 70’s East Bay Area Northern California ❤❤❤ Where I come from
