I was there and the memories this brought back were so great. I hope they do a Blu Ray release with remixed board audio 🥰 This whole tour is too special to not immortalize.
Hey, people work with what they got. The phone camera sets the quality. This is decent enough, and the proximity definitely makes this video singular over other Beat shows. It's funny to see that because Robert Fripp is not there, standing just in front of them with a camera is not even an issue. I'm very happy speedypete2112 posted these two sets.

Did Vai mess up at 40:51? I can't tell if he did or if the piece is just written so it's out of synch and that causes an awkward ending by the way it's written. I played this back a few times, Vai starts playing the single line pattern muted and it sounds like he semi-misses a note. He may have spontaneously decided to use muting here but it messed up his coordination, it sounds stiff and a bit off. Which song is this?
@EastwoodDC3 ай бұрын
That would be Frame by Frame. Via and Belew are playing in different time signatures (6 and 7). It does sound a little off for a moment, but they end it together.

You mean 26:20, the ending for Frame by Frame? Yes, it's a mess. It's so funny that Vai and Carey are considered virtuosos and they just can't handle this material at all!

Interesting factoid: The guy that won the signed guitar that evening… during the show (I forget when) Steve Vai pointed to the motif on the right side of his pant leg and then pointed to the area on his guitar right above the pick guard….it was the same pattern painted on his guitar.

I know. It frustrates me too. The Celebrity Theater is a really intimate venue, but you miss half the show visually and a lot of the guitar action. 😑 I remember seeing Toto there some years ago and I basically missed a lot of Steve Lukather’s guitar solos. Steve Vai was there a couple years ago, and luckily it was a non-rotating stage event. Must’ve been a request by Steve to not rotate the stage during his performance. 🙏🏼
