Hi Adam, it's got something to do with the frequency of the artificial lights. Artificial light in the United States typically flickers at 120 hertz (Hz), or cycles per second. This is because most LED lights flicker at twice the frequency of the power line, which is 60 Hz in the US. Set your shutter speed to 1/60 and 1/120 and take a series of photos in burst mode. See if either shutter speeds work to get rid of the banding. That means you can only use Shutter Priority and manual.
@hasenmyer
@hasenmyer 3 күн бұрын
@@stanleystevens6278 yes the banding is caused by LED lighting. Based on my research, there are two things going on here. There is no mechanical shutter and the camera has a slower sensor read out speed. This is what is causing the banding. It wouldn’t matter what setting I had on shutter speed. As long as you are in an artificial light situation it should be just fine..thanks for watching and commenting

@hasenmyer I have my Lumix S5iix right here with me, I set it to electronic shutter and tested 20 burst shots of a white wall in my office with common LED ceiling lights. My region is 50 Hz so I set it to 1/50 and 1/100. None of the photos have banding. As the sensors of the S5iix and the S9 are the same, you just need to set your shutter speed to match your region, so 1/60 and 1/120 should work.

Man, I really think you should go simple. If I'm vlogging, Pocket 3. If it's raining, Action 4. When you're getting b-roll and photos A7C. If you give yourself choices, you'll end up with analysis paralysis. Make a plan for each scenario and stick with it and concentrate on making memories and story. I agree about the pocket 3. It's awkward. You could use it just for the traveling part. Bring the wide angle if you're planning on filming your hotel room. I always forget that! Never use it otherwise.

@hasenmyer Same here my friend! I really want to film something today but I'm kind of having a lack of motivation to do so. There's not really a specific topic or camera I'm dying to cover. But you're right, it's good to go out and just film yourself to get out of the house and to practice things. Even if you only found out that you need a clip, I think it was worth it.

Looks good! Tamron 20-40 also looks pretty good on paper, although I'm going to have to shoot some more with my Sigma 16mm F/1.4 more to help me determine if I'm going to like 3rd party lenses. In my video with the Christmas tree in the background, it seemed like it did more focus breathing than I'm used to with my Sony Lenses but it could have been more to do with the focal length at F/1.4 and shot composition.
@hasenmyer
@hasenmyer 8 күн бұрын
I use the Sigma 1.4 in most of my videos in my garage, I've never noticed that much hunting..maybe the contrast between the tree and your son was messing with your camera...IDK..I"ve tried the tamron 20-40 in the past, while it's a great lens, if you plan to use it for "vlogging" the stabilization doesn't work as good, that's why I ultimately sent it back.

you can stream filmic Pro to an apple watch, I had many issues with choosing the phone as I needed this and that and this and that... Ideally I would just upload all clips to google drive to upload download when home, I feel like the storage space of apple log just didnt make sense for the quality as the stock camera looked better coming from Iphone 13 Pro though, my best iphone shots are from the Stock Iphone App, which does have Lock Settings I also have yet to understand Get any apple device and use Filmic PRO!!!
@MTKnockOut
@MTKnockOut 8 күн бұрын
There are streaming deices for 60$ made just for this on amazon I can't recall the link, but mirrors as well, but with this work flow I recommend Mac to edit the videos or transport as naming mass files is a dream, Apple Watch or second apple device both using Filmic Pro will give your Wireless Monitoring for 30$ on the app I think the idea is to use an iPad in the near future to edit the footage just plugging the ssd in between devices as of the fitting of the clamp I recommend playing with the weight and moving closer to the heavy side you know the ssd and acc Gimbals are real cheap the newest ought to be strong enough plus have a light on it, My issue was lenses like the Beast Grip is $200 but Ideal for real work, but they tend to be sold out, so I decided the iPhone will be my gimbals 4k60 cam so I can post slo mo my dog, and I was happier with the small file size and less grainy footage Report is that Apple HDR causes grain, I can't confirm on your device Id truly go for DJI pocket 3 and Mini 3 or 4 pro models only, Hover Air Pro or Dji Neo And your choice of full frame if not the Sony Zv-e10ii APC-s in unison with the Zv-e1 if you still have it Multi Angle for Sports with slo mo, Hover Drone can "guard" a sports player in action quickly, I use it in basketball, the Hover Air Slow Mo is king for additional service, I believe the A7cii is the best choice if low light is not a major concern minus slow Mo, but any one of the drones can do it as well as the $500 Pocket 3 probably better than anything that isn't the ZV-E1, I would probably push the A7Ci if all the other cameras aren't doing the job for the price, I wasn't happy spending $1500 on the E1 -at first I got the Lumix S9 and really like it, but I notice the Sony Pictures had a perfect touch to my basketball with minimal effort color wise, however the E1 detail was missing, S9 is a strange cat, I like a crop and distance from the subject, I will use 4k60 as slow mo with it, but I have to work harder with it when out shooting, for the price I could swap it with a a7ci and save money on lenses, but I kind of like what I uncovered with the S9 in my recent comparison might rent the a7ci to see if I should, or if I should wait for the ii Ideally, I save gimbal shots for my iPhone for now, or hand hold a drone mounted under the controller which is fun but a burden of time to start, Dji pocket 2 only at the moment, but this is truly one of the best cameras to place somewhere and record for an hour or more, A 360 camera, plus mounts for me my bike and my dog, this gives me more entertaining video or creative pictures to use Of course, a full frame, I am liking the S9 as I record on tripod, so 30fps isn't bad to me (zv-e1 doesn't do it only 24) So 6k is cool for long recording so I can post zoom, or C4k for my main content for full color space, then c4k 60p so I can Slow Mo zoom, or to get a deeper field of focus, Sports and Wild Life Benefit, but the A7Cii seems much more beneficial with 33 mega pixels, but if you have the zv-e1, that's asking for another $2k So I may even swap the E1 for a Pocket 3 and the A7cii or the S9, if I don't just submit and buy it. The S9, A7cii for photo work is a must one or the other... iPhone seemed the be in the same space of needing more time to prepare and wanting more control of the place I'm in as the drone hand held was, requiring lighting and fans or the 10gb for 1 minute of video which didn't look as good as the stock camera with contrast edits in post, even for comparing purposes I wanted to deck out my iPhone but it became more to work with than an old DSLR, given that the S9 and E1 fit in my pocket with a lens in a Phany pack I feel much more productive as well as approachable for photos Ali Express for the lights and dog and body go pro mounts

I agree. No way current iPhone footage is going to look better than the OP3, except for the advantage of having 3 different focal lengths on the iPhone. I have heard enough about dealing with the size of Pro res files and seeing everyone's setup with external drives that I have zero interest in it. If I switch to iPhone, I will probably just use the standard if it's the best phone I have. I'd keep it simple. I'd do the Pocket 3 for video and the A7C and a single lens for photo. If it gets wet, switch to the Action 4. Done. Don't do any ND's for the Pocket 3. You'll end up fiddling with those. Normal Color at -0.7 exposure when it's bright out. D-Log M at -0.3 exposure for anything past golden hour and set your max ISO to 1600 NR and sharpness to -2. Maybe get one of those necklace mounts for the Action 4 and keep it on your neck the whole time and turn it on when you need it.

Fuji seems like all hipster hype to me. Like the re-emergence of vinyl records. I lived that era, and records were a pain in the butt and don't sound better (unless you have really expensive audio equipment) than CD's or streaming (as long as it's decent quality). If I want that nostalgic crackle, there are programs that can add that and you'd never know the difference. Now, if I came across some old records and wanted to play them, yeah--I get that. It's also neat to think about the craftsmanship that goes into making the grooves that produce the sound but other than that...we have better tools now.

I like the two different levels of noise cancellation. I have the DJI Mic 2's and the noise cancellation feature is useless because it's too heavy handed. I can do it in post, but it would be nice to be able to turn it on low and get most of what I need out of the mic itself.

there is a lot to like about the mini for sure. Low does a pretty good job, haven't tried the higher setting.

@hasenmyer saw one video showing the clip size could be a. Issue if your clipping it to a jacket or hat...

I haven’t had consistent good weather to fly mine. I can deal with cold but it’s been very windy/gusty ever since I got them and that’s no bueno!

it's law that as soon as you buy something to use outside, the weather turns bad. I still get a little nervous while flying, need to fly more to get over that (test range/connectivity and such)

@@hasenmyer I'm in such a restricted area that I'm paranoid I'm going to get a huge fine for flying without knowing I shouldn't be.

@ DJI app will keep you from flying in restricted space. There are also several good apps. I think you can “fly with caution” around a helipad but PLEASE don’t take my word for it

@@hasenmyer I definitely use all of that and as it stands I've only flown in Pleasure House Point and my garage but the paranoia remains.

@ 100% before all the geo fencing I took my old drone out and was flying it around a park. After I landed.. a commercial plane flew over about couple 100 ft in the air. It was coming in for landing…could have been bad situation
