What was your idle screw set at? I need to readjust my TPS but I've fiddled with the idle screw.😅

You need to use the Ohm meter as described to set it properly.
@905Speed5 ай бұрын
@@salhanna9375I know, I'm asking how far you have the idle adjustment screw set out
@salhanna93755 ай бұрын
@905Speed the cTPS screw should just be loose enough to be able to give a slight tap to the TPS where it moves 1/8" this way as you adjust, you aren't over adjusting.
@salhanna93755 ай бұрын
@905Speed keep in mind the idle screw is different. Plus there is an idle air control that should be reset. The idle air screw is set based on where the throttle plate closes.

Hey man, thank you for the tips and your thorough and factual explanation through out the entire video! I did go to pep boys their website, but no matter what I tried...no heater core for a Third Gen Pontiac Firebird or Chevrolet Camaro comes available.... I noticed that your video dates from 5 years ago...did they stop selling this heater core at pep boys..?

You're welcome. Yes, Pepboys was bought out and the parts that they used to carry are more available at Advanced Auto Parts. However, Autozone, O'Reilly and Napa also carry it.

There's something seriously wrong with the design of these heater cores. I am the original owner of an '87 IROC with only 27,000 miles on it but I have still had to replace the heater core three times over the years. I'm not savvy enough to do this myself and have had it done twice by dealer shops and most recently in a local shop. The book labor spec for this job is 4.5 hours (i.e. must pull the dash) and whether they know your trick or not they certainly charge as though they don't.
