Isn't 20/20 hindsight wonderful. We are able to watch videos like this with the benefit of the historical facts of the last two years. We now that the corona policies of the Xi government in particular its stringent testing and lockdown policy was not only destructive to the lives of the Chinese people but also of at best minimal health value.

Bilahari was never known to be an expert of China. Not sure why he was asked to speak on this topic. Any China follower would have notice his info was all hollowed, lacked insight and poorly interpretated. If you don't agree, try George Yeo's lecture on China in Europe's Future and Europe in China's Future. The depth and breath of his China knowledge will show the contrast.

"The Chinese have this talent of pissing people off" (!:19:53), how true! 😂 If I might add: "Even though they have the best of your interests!". I thank Bilahari for his very insightful views and thoughts about China, even after two years since the time of the session. I guess even though you left MFA, you never really leave the Foreign Service.

@S1REAL1
@S1REAL1 Жыл бұрын
@@majda926 they mentioned sir Elly kadoorie but failed to mention he was one of seven. His elder siblings had children and could not travel so the eldest moshe gave Eleazer (sir elly kadoorie) the money to use to go and trade with. One of the brothers was captured by Japanese and killed. There’s lot of missing information. These videos always mention Elly and his children Lawrence and Horace but the rest of the family is never mentioned. While they were living in a palace in Hong Kong my grandfather family were still in Calcutta. They never looked after the family. They had left Baghdad with a lot of wealth, money, diamonds, gold etc. It is said that the £500 loan equivalent of maybe £50k today was used to start trading the opium. The idea was that the two youngest brothers who had no children could travel make money and share it with the family but they never did. That should be mentioned. My grandfather came to England and raised his family in a 3 bed house with seven children while his first cousins had billions and lived in a palace. This is why Jewish people have a bad reputation with money because it corrupts them.
@S1REAL1
@S1REAL1 Жыл бұрын
@@majda926 the inaccuracies are that it implies the Kadoorie family had no wealth until they met the Sassoon family and started trading opium. This is not correct. They were an extremely prominent family in Baghdad with great wealth already. You need money to trade with. They didn’t go to Hong Kong with empty pockets. The Kadoorie family is not just sir Elly’s bloodline. It is disrespectful to not mention his 5 brothers and 1 sister, as if they never existed.

Britain is the only Nation to Explore the world in most meaning full way this means to exploit the land resources which USA capture and seized the opportunity without any point of discussion on future earth and environment effects.. After 100 years of industry history all are now alined in such way that climate change is the only problem,to restore the same... Hard-work of unimaginable proportions is needed at every step by every country and nation's .. #G7 ultimate opportunity to make life smooth and adapt them to nature again without extinctions of other species than humans ... Other wise our future is doomed if we continue in same way or if we try to alter the changes they will need very much long time to heal and restore the same but now it seems impossible task given the commitments of Nations is not improving the mother nature.. And the nature's force is no visible to everyone be it humans or any other species. #Climate has been effected by #humanChanges ...it means its not right word #climatechange -it is human change causing Environmental Disruption. To become ultra rich Humans they need more energy sources to give environment nothing just papers that to made with tress.... On paper's climate change is significant.. But the money they made..or what make them developed nations ...more money influx.,no environment policies to promote...only money they are worried about not environment things coming day by day in their way... And removing them to stall major projects #G7

1) By reflecting away 30% of ISR the albedo, which would not exist w/o the atmosphere/GHGs, makes the earth cooler than it would be without that atmosphere like that reflective panel set behind the windshield. Remove the atmosphere/GHGs and the earth would become much like the Moon and Mercury, a barren rock with a 0.1 albedo, 20% more kJ/h, hot^3 on the lit side, cold^3 on the dark. Nikolov, Kramm (U of AK) and UCLA Diviner mission all tacitly agree. 2) the GHG up/down welling, “trapping”/”back” radiating/delaying/intercepting, 100 % efficient, perpetual warming loop requires "extra" energy which according to RGHE theory comes from 3) the terrestrial surface radiating that "extra" energy as a LWIR ideal black body which 4) cannot happen because of the non-radiative heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmospheric molecules and as demonstrated by experiment, the gold standard of classical science: principia-scientific.org/debunking-the-greenhouse-gas-theory-with-a-boiling-water-pot/ 1+2+3+4 = 0 Greenhouse Effect + 0 Greenhouse gas warming + 0 man caused climate change. I think China is no longer a developing country anymore. Thus it shouldn't need technology given by default just because it's a "developing country". In some ways, China has surpassed the west with regards to becoming a tech and factory powerhouse.

So as much as Yukon Huang laughs that China takes advantage of this loophole, China is effectively double dipping. Further displacing other developing countries that might need support.

The graph at start is completely fake. India did not exist as a nation before world war 2 for starters. In 1820's America was only 30 years old and the graph does not show France and the UK which in 1820 would dwarf China as seeming on the same level as new born America in 1820. China was the superpower in the days of Carthage and Rome about 2000 years ago. There is NO way Europe was less GDP then China in 1800's. The UK or France ALONE should be higher. Someone just made that graph from nonsense. Not to mention that 90% of the wealth of Britian was NOT in Europe but in Biritish Raj India, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, the middle east, and Africa. 2020 China less then 1820?! wow. How is India on this chart before they ever existed as a country? India was a British colony until World War 2. In the 1820's wasn't most of the entire China coastline under Birtish, French, Dutch, Portuguese, or Spanish occupation? If China was the world's superpower in 1820 then how is it that their homeland is occupied by Europeans? Notice how the graph never changed after the Japanese invasion in 1930s and 1940's or the communist takeover that followed. I would like to know how India influenced the world's GDP under the nose of British occupation all those years.

Firstly, why is the Chinese renminbi with Chairman Mao's face has No Signature? This reminded me of those 'Japanese banana note' which is valueless. Keep printing without any control just like those Monopoly Game money. Pass Go...collect $200/- No Pass Go to jail. Does China need foreign currency especially the USDollars to produce LC(Letter of Credits) for imports and exports? Even HongKong Dollars have signature with 'the Lion's head' just like Singapore's Dollars. Perplexing indeed!

I am sorry to disagree with those who claim that the US is not producing anything that people around the world want. The US is exporting the best technology, entertainment (music, movies, television content) , financial instruments, scientific discoveries, drugs and cellular therapies, scientific knowledge, sports, services, weapons, and education. China is not leading in any of these. Let me illustrate with some examples to make the case. The US is still leading in technology. Look at Apple products. Even though their products are made mostly in Asia, they are designed in the US. They are the most copied technology in the world. Look at Microsoft, Dell, HP, Google, Intel, and AMD. Without that technology, China will fall behind quickly. In the area of medicines, including vaccines, US is definitely still still leading. In terms of entertainment, supports, and financial services, the US is still dominant. US education is still the most highly respected in the world. They make 80% of commercial airplanes. US weapons technology is still the best. China, Japan, and Germany are beginning to catch up but they are nowhere near dominant. A few countries are beating the US in some areas, such as train technology and manufacturing technology (electronics and devices). It is still the American century, in my opinion.

If you ask a Chinese, he or she will tell you, nobody in China wants China to be a global power. Chinese just want to build a beautiful country to live in, for they really deserve it after a century of humiliation. International supremacy is not the goal by any means. Overall, China is a peace loving country. And we all know which country is trying desperately exporting their ideology, it's not China.

There is no question about China's rising hard power.... It is her weak soft power that is hampering her ambition to become a great power. Her news network such as CGTN and CCTV are not being taken seriously.... The Confucian Institutes are a big failure.... To increase her soft power... invest in other networks such as AL Jazeera... RT America etc that carry more sympathetic views of China and fund some independent western KZbin channels that are also more sympathetic to China. If you have China Chinese talking about China... no one take them seriously... people will conclude that these are state propaganda.
