I think he’s been fishing in his pockets for too many rocks, if you know what I mean.

Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

Im late to the lemon rig, but..... im on it! I cant wait to try this. Thank you for the great demo and explanation.

Funny thing is the rod can make a huge difference, 8 use an 8ft spin jigging rod for my lure casting and the fish pulling back bone is 2nd to none. The style of rod would suit your setup

Fishing there at night is better because the blue lights attract the small fish and the place has tons of trout.

That's my dad at 2 mins We lost him in 2020 but this video gets us going everytime. He was a diehard fisherman. Loved them jetties and thankyou for posting it because if for not being up I'd not be able to hear his voice and watch being where he loved to be.

One thing I would never do when fishing out on a Jetty like that is to go out there unarmed. You have no clue what the Homeless guy might have done with you just moving that blanket to get by.

While I appreciate the technology that goes into sealing reels (magseal oil, gaskets, etc.), I am not confident that they will prevent saltwater intrusion always and everywhere. For me, just give me durable and corosion resistant inner components, aluminum bodies, and make it easy to take apart. I would rather stake my reel's life on my maintenance rather than on some engineer's theory. And I bet that it will cost me less money.
