idk why, but I always imagine that Pepe isn't actually french, just puts on an accent and knows the odd word or song in french, whereas penelope can only speak french so doesn't speak since she doesn't know how to respond to english

Scenes like this make it surprising they've cut Pew Pew out of a lot of things entirely now. Penelope is well established to like Pew Pew (more than he likes her by the looks of it, considering the fact everytime he doesn't smell like shit she wants to jump his bones) and it's just his unbearable smell that makes him completely intolerable without being sick. Pew Pew also obviously has a problem with boundaries given he ignores her discomfort entirely. But you could easily cut that out and make him a grand romantic with a habit of big gestures, lots of physical affection and compliments. But will still stop when his date obviously isn't interested, even if he doesn't really understand why. It'd be nice to have a few shorts or cameos of these two trying to make it work in their relationship with different methods. In one scene they've got gas masks, in another they have a private floral spa which covers his scent, the good ol' paint trick again. They could even make it a metaphor for medical conditions that some people might find 'gross' for extra points. Considering his smell was something Pew Pew was born with.
