It’s especially weird because they did have other female characters that were bunnies in several of the Looney Tunes shorts who were made as love interest for Bugs that they could easily be placed for Carrotblanca or at least make up a totally new character for this film alone. Having Penelope in it as the love interest was such a weird choice.

Look, I'm just going to say it. I dislike Penelope in this short. And the Short In General. And yes while you can agree she has some personality which is a good thing considering she was Pepe Le Pew's Love girl in the classic shorts, I’d like to say it isn’t much. I mean, she is Bugs and Sylvester’s Love interests sure but it doesn’t expand the Famous Role that was set Ingrid Bergman. In fact she is incredibly overly violent (Though you can argue it is for good reason). And I didn’t like the way she jumped of the plane at the end of the short all because Pepe Flirted with her. I’ll admit I haven’t seen Casablanca to get some of the references but that doesn’t stop it from being mid. Most of the characters were decent and Pepe Le Pew’s joke about her being shy got a laugh out of me (The only time I laughed in this short). But overall it was weighted down by an unlikable Penelope and being a pretty boring short. Just thankful Bugs Bunny Builders gave Penelope a better personality.
