That's awesome! Can't believe the state that the car is in now... what a shame, but you can restore it for sure, with A LOT of work. As for the problems, sounds like you have a body control module issue, as well as maybe a transfer case module issue? I saw the 4Lo and the center diff lock lights flash. As for the mold, be very careful! You can get sick from it. I suggest pulling the carpet because mold can hide pretty deep. All seats, all plastic trim, all carpet, all insulation out and washed, and replaced if needed. Can't wait to see the next episode on this project!

Great video, really helpful. I needed to get the steering wheel off to replace the clockspring and you explained it very well! I dont know if you realised at 5;13 in the video you left the torx bit in the column nut. I did wonder if this was why the horn wasn't as sensitive? Thanks again for the info :)

Hello, this might be dumb question but how do you handle the negative terminal on sub? Shouldn’t it be routed to like the fuse box or battery? I’m planning on buyin Alpine SWE-815 and any help would be great, wish u a great day.

These passats are my childhood. We have 2 at the moment, both wagons. But they have been parked for a while, one was parked when we bought a p2 xc90, and the second one is needing a new clutch and wheel bearings. Absolute units, and plan to get one of them as my first car. More comfortable to drive than the xc90 and my grandpas 1st gen forester.

Rear armrest with cup holder’s, parking lights ( what ever side of the car is offside I.E driver’s side ) put the winker/indicator to the up position for the indicator to start to flash. Turn car and light’s off & lock the car, you will see that the outer headlight & rear light have stayed on. This saves the car getting hit in a unlit area or tight roads. Lockable glovebox, great driver’s seat. Door rain puddle light’s shine once the door is opened so that you can see the ground. TAXI MODE !! In the fusebox. Front & read disc brake’s, under engine bay protection cover’s, Aero wiper blades, just upgraded mine on the rear and no more squeaky rear wiper blade ( Seat estate has a squeaky rear wiper ) change your blades to Bosch Aero blades and you will not go back to you old wiper’s. Door mirror’s with folding action & indicator’s. Rest pedal for your clutch foot to rest on. Air conditioning, heated seat’s & cruise control & and half decent trip computer that has never let me down. When driving along and sat in he passenger’s seat just pull gently on the handbrake ( only an inch say ) hold for about 10 seconds and the driver will have a message flash up in the driver’s display that he has never ever seen before and a dong dong dong warning sound. Let go of the handbrake, wait for a few minutes more and do it again. But this shows you how far ahead on certain safety item’s and sensor’s the VW group worked with for year’s. Rear electric child proof windows controlled by the driver. Tailer attached is great and it will show that the trailer is attached correctly on the driver’s display system along with audio winker noise’s inside the car.
