Not "montages of various mime acts." The film is meant to be a series of live paintings and tableaux depicting the most important moments in the life of Armenian poet Sayat-Nova as he remembered them. The work is rich in story and symbolism.

great video!!! i was using williamsburg so far because it has no zinc, unfortunately i only have acesss to Michael harding and old holland titanium white which are shown to not have any zinc at this moment,which one of those would you recommend? Michael harding also has linseed oil version Best Regards

@nelsonferreirauk Sim, porém cristianismo oriental, com forte influência bizantina e do oriente médio nas vestimentas, música, pintura e decoração. A parte do sacrifício do animal para unção do menino, isso não é cristão. Não é que não gostei do filme, apenas não entendi e achei meio macabro.

Quel pur chef d'oeuvre. L'esthétisme est bluffant. Le cadrage, les perspectives, les couleurs, l'éclairage, le costumes, le rythme du film..tout frôle la perfection. C'est la preuve que souvent les mots ne sont pas suffisants pour exprimer ce qui se passe dans notre esprit. partagee une pensée, raconter un rêve, par des mots ne reflète jamais vraiment l'intensité ou l'authenticité de ce qu'on essaie de communiquer. C'est là où les images, les couleurs, les gestes, les regards deviennent beaucoup plus expressifs que les mots. ce film c'est comme un rêve que le réalisateur essaie de nous raconter...d'ailleurs il est impossible pour le spectateur de raconter ou d'expliquer ce film à quelqu'un d'autre. Il faut le visionner pour comprendre.

@@unutilisateurdegoogle8510 C'est tellement vrai, je suis tout à fait d'accord avec vous. La plupart des œuvres d'art contemporaines sont basées sur des mots, perdant ainsi la poésie visuelle. C'est l'un de mes films préférés.

I agree with the part that one needs to study more to understand real cinema. This is definitely not entertainment, but a masterpiece of composition and tableau vivants.

Lady gaga 911 klibindeki referanstan sonra yıllardır izlemek istiyordum ama altyazılı halini bulamamıştım, çok karakteristik kendine has bir çekiciliği var filmin, kostümleri anlatmaya kelimeler yetmiyor. Geleneksellikle yaratıcılığı güzel harmanlanmış film atmosferi hiç yabancı hissettirmedi.

@@nelsonferreirauk Ne güzel bir tesadüf, dünya gerçekten küçük! ebru gelenekselde sınırlı şekiller ve gerektirdiği hatayı sevmeyen inceliği dolayısıyla alternatiflerine göre pek tercih edilmeyen unutulmaya yüz tutmuş bir sanat, hala ilgilenen birilerinin olduğunu duymak çok hoş. Durgun su, tek bir damla ile saflığını kaybedip kirlenebilir; oysa akan su, her zaman yolunu bulur ve temiz kalır. Yeni yılınız, bir ırmak gibi daima akıp yolunu bulsun ve güzel fırsatlarla sizi buluştursun. Mutlu yıllar!

@@pedrojose7671 that’s right. I love several Madonna videos but Bedtime Stories is not my favourite. After seeing The Colour of the Pomegranates, you realise that it’s heavily lifted from this masterpiece. I do love Frozen, Human Nature, Rain, Take a Bow, Secret, God Control etc
