Only if you allow the water in the trap to evaporate when not used frequently. Shouldnt be a problem if used normally.

I'm not a plumber never have been but I have what most lack common sense. Hopefully there's no plumbers in the comments. Per Google about s trap and the siphoning he mentions. That's why all U.S. plumbing codes outlaw S-Traps (IPC 1002.3, UPC 1004.1). P-Traps on the other hand, are time-tested and reliable. (IPC 1002.3, UPC 1004.1).

No one is going to re-pipe the drain, removing the cabinet and opening the wall, over the difference between the two traps. News flash, a p-trap will evaporate in a couple of days if unused. You know, like a rarely used guest bathroom?

P-traps go to the wall, s traps go through the floor. And the vent should be within 6 ft of this 2-in diameter pipe is needed

I had a home inspector inspect the house that I bought last year. House was built in 1889. There is nothing structurally wrong with the house at all - just a few minor cosmetic things. This video gave me anxiety all over again.

Is it the tank that rusted or is it that rod that’s in there? Or do you just replace the water heater automatically when you see rust ?

I guarantee you that was not done by professional plumber. It was most likely done by a " helper guy " two an owner who wanted to pay the lowest possible price and got his cousin to do it. Every professional plumber that I've met who everyday proves their worth would know exactly how to box out this beam properly.

You don't compact soil under a concrete pier. You dig down at least 42" to get below the frostline. If you've dug to far fill it with concrete, do not fill the hole back in with dirt. Learn before you give bad advice. Maybe the pier wasn't deep enough to start with and it heaved and settled. Maybe the pier was undersized for the decMaybe. Maybe the deck was built out of level. Alot of maybes.
@fricky111114 ай бұрын
Maybe it's owner wanted it to slope a little to keep the water away from the house foundation. As far as the soils density goes...you need to test before you offer an opinion. One test is worth 50 expert opinions. Could be soil type is the problem.
@MatthewHall-xi2mz4 ай бұрын
I would have done that. Slope it slightly to direct the water off the deck away from the house.

I don't trust new construction at all for HVAC systems. A static pressure test should always be done! 80% of homes have a single under sized return duct. This means your house is usually getting about half the airflow for heat and cool! I suggest having an HVAC tech do an inspection before buying any home! It's such an easy test but most home inspectors dont do it.
