@@larrymwilson thx for watching Larry. It somewhat depends on the water, the hard metals in it, how often you clean them, etc. So, to give you an idea, here in Michigan we keep our pool open for 6 months at a time. I purchased 2 copper electrodes (I just rotate them when I take one off to clean it, I put the other one on) and this was the 3rd year. So 2 electrodes lasted me 18 months. What about woodpeckers pecking on the windows?
@69bobr

The Amazon reviews on it are about a 50/50 split on effectiveness. One pecker has recently started by a corner of a large window, under an eave. Every grey morning, between 5:30 and 8:30. @jordanseverydaydiy4373 Not true. Moreover, if the user opts out of Generac's protection racket, they delete the product's runtime history. As I depart from Galveston tomorrow, hurricane Francine will make landfall. Though on the clean side, we will almost certainly lose power. No link to Stucco Patch by Quickrete, but a search using those terms finds it. Note: the siding on your home is EIFS. Not cement stucco. Actual cement will deter a wood pecker. Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS, non-load bearing exterior wall cladding) is very thin; strong, but not puncture proof. The Quickrete is an acrylic so will cover the hole, still need to back fill and use a backing screen to provide support ( depending on size of hole). Problem here is sparrows move in after the wood pecker leaves, so must act quickly to fill the holes!!!

However about 10 years ago I discovered Copper Sulfate and started using it. I have a 13k pool and use 1 tablespoon diluted a month. Never ever have I had any Algae since. No green hair, no pool stains on my gunite pool here in Florida. Stop listening to these people who don't have a clue, maybe they work for pool companies or don't even have a pool. So may gimmicks when this is the easiest cost effective solution out there.. Look at the ingredients of most pool Algaecides 5-7% Copper Sulfate. When you buy Copper Sulfate small crystals (Amazon, eBay) and dissolve it, it is 20% concentrate so don't think 1 tablespoon a month is to little, adjust if your pool is larger. That is all you need and you'll NEVER have Algae again. The key is Don't over do it thinking more is better, it's not. It does reduce the amount of Chlorine you use but not by a significant amount.
