In case youtube deletes my other comment. From Famitsu interview. What's the point of that scene where the screens are flipped upside-down in the final part of the story? Uchikoshi: I'll talk about the premise first: the one who was solving the puzzles in the escape parts on the bottom screen was Akane, and she, as the Transmitter, was giving information to Junpei. Flipping the screens is meant to signify that Junpei is now solving the puzzle by his own will in that scene and giving information to the Akane of nine years ago. --So did Junpei also have talent in transmitting & receiving? Uchikoshi: If you believe in the theory of morphogenetic fields, everyone has a slight ability to both transmit and receive. Akane was highly skilled as a Transmitter, so she could also receive. By the way, the conversation takes place across time because the general concept of time does not apply to morphogenetic fields. Of course, I absolutely think there's also an interpretation where "the power of their love transcended time and space" (laughs). I found out why people including me feel like they never heard this : the one scene it plays in has no music in the remake. Not even Unary Game which also plays during this scene in the DS version. This remade version is completely unused.

Getting the submarine ending as my first ending by going from door 3 to door 2 was the best experience ever. The shock of seeing everything unfold without all the knowledge of what’s even truly going on rocked. Leaving Lotus and Clover behind without even knowing the rooms looped back, seeing everyone dead.

Even if i'm in the perfect safe place, when i here this ost, i just have shiver and i'm afraid for my life ! Like, the music of 999 is, like, one of the best music ever created for a video game ! i'm so happy that, backthen, i had the opportunity to play it in it's integrality on the DS ! One of the best game ever, i hope more people became familiar with this serie thanks to the port on PC !
