Islam is the only truly universal teaching that extracts and beautifies the truth in human soul, surpassing the boundaries of time, space, genetics or culture.. by not ignoring them , but giving those realities their due.

There are gentle Muslim souls who want to love Allah and worship him peacefully and are not interested in problematic ideas and a manipulative games done in the name of Islam. The 4 madhabs are the work of men who have faults and do good and bad. Lets stop this romanticism of religious scholars to be saints and perfect like people. Radicalised Muslims and awful salafists need about of sufism to get them to have some humanity and serve it as large to get us all out if this darkness that they do and preach in islams name.

Al Ghazali was a complete Misogynist. He recommends in his supposed Magnum opus Ihya Uloom ud din Book on Marriage that women should be locked up in their houses, with no windows or openings for them to see outside. Very limited money should be given to them, barely enough to run the household, nothing for them to spend on what they wish. They should be given old clothes so they are ashamed to go outside and similar other horrifying edicts. I understand that Al Ghazali was a person of his time, and he is with his Lord who may judge him as He wills. What I find unforgivable is current scholars, Including Hamza Yusuf Hanson, pushing Al Ghazali as the great thinker, the great savior of Islam. I have not heard any current scholar, including Hamza Hanson, acknowledging and rejecting such misogynistic ideas. I could not find an English translation of the Book on Marriage. While Islamic Texts Society might not have translated the Book on Marriage, this misogynism is laced like poison in all the books. Is Hamza Hanson a misogynist himself that he is not willing to acknowledge that while Al Ghazali might be a great philosopher, he had his failings and he should not be followed blindly. It's about time Muslim Scholars are honest in their dealings with us. They Are doing a disservice by not acknowledging Al Ghazali as a human being who made mistakes. They need to acknowledge that Al Ghazali was not the end all be all. Acknowledge Al Ghazali's failings so we may all honestly learn from him.

Honestly you should be ashamed of yourself for making some sort of a stand here thinking you're some expert in Ghazali's life and have read all his books etc. I tell you what you've read; a couple of Internet sites from Egypt stating these vicious misunderstood misinterpreted statements. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some hard-core Ghazali fan here but the contrary I view some of his philosophical view as weird and extreme. But when he spoke about humans in general including his bashing of men, he was only stating what he knew from Quran and Sunnah. Yes he compared women to particular animals in one of his books but aren't we all compared to animals when we're absolutely useless and ignorant? When we're negligent of our duties towards Allah? Men are mentioned as animals and compared as such in Quran and Sunnah. You fail to read his mention of men as well but just worried about some out of context text related to women. I highly advise you to learn Arabic and start reading his many untranslated work so you may understand where he's coming from and his many women rights statements (during that hard time).

Was für ein unwissender, Respektloser Jahil bist du? NIMMST DIR DAS RECHT ZU ENTSCHEIDEN WAS DER PROPHET MACHEN WÜRDE! Wir sagen nicht, wenn uns unser Prophet (Sallallahu Aleyhi ve sellem) sehen würde, würde er uns in den Stirn küssen. So ein wert haben wir nicht. Aber du Ahlakloser unmensch bestimmst wen der Prophet schlagen würde? Welches recht nimmst du dir somit? Den gelobtesten des Allah's Subhanu Weteâla's wissen und empfinden zu bestimmen. Von seinem nafs ertrunkener ekelhafter Existenz. In dem ich so egoistische Typen wie dich sehe nähere ich mich Elhamdülillah zum Mawlawi Tariqa. Möge Allah mich mit dem Tawassul zu den folgern des Propheten Sallallahu Aleyhi ve sellem zu seinem rechtmäßigen diener machen.
