Put this down about two weeks ago and haven't noticed a bit of difference. Put the liquid that came with it down yesterday... hopefully that makes it greener because the DD Lawn Fertilizer didn't seem to do anything at all.

For a number of years, I have been an ardent follower of your lawn care programs. (Lawn Care Nut & Yard Mastery) I live just north from Jacksonville, FL and have a 12,500 sq ft St. Augustine lawn. Since today is Oct 20, 2024, I decided to open up the 2023 Warm Season Guide to see what I might apply to the yard to give it a boost for Halloween. I decided to “tank up” a combo of 7-0-0 Greene Effect a long with a mixture of 0-0-2 Micro-Greene. (Yep….the ole “Double Dark.”) On page 103, the instruction says to spray the mixture and let it absorb, then after an hour, water it all in. (Which is what I did.) After finishing that project, I returned to the Warm Season Guide and noted on page 119, the instructions for 7-0-0 Greene Effect is to “let it sit on the grass. DO NOT water it in.” I’m confused as to which method is the correct one. Spray, let it sit for an hour or so, then water it in. Or should I have sprayed and just let it sit and DO NOT water it in. (*Note that the containers only have mixing instructions….no application information.) Thanks for all you do in providing much needed advise to all of us lawn enthusiasts.

Should I pass on pre emergent and lay stress blend since my warm season sod was installed in August? My app is telling me to lay down pre emergent.

Expensive? Yes. That’s why I’ve been using DEF this year. And it’s been working very well!

Okay, Michigan customer here. Purchased fall pkg. Soil at 66 per app. One of your videos says to put down Flagship after last mow of the season (which will probably be early November). My question is whether to put down the pre-emergent now or wait till I mow for the last time?

All I have to say is that you stand behind your products and sell great granular fert at a good price. Not to mention the many years of providing great-from-experience lawn care advice to anyone that wants to know. I only have experience with YM Granular ferts. I’m convinced that your 17-7-6 spread at half rate saved my lawn this summer when we had no rain for 2 months and I applied it just before we finally received some rain. YM double dark absolutely kicked my post overseeding into high gear! I have never seen my lawn so dark green! I did overseed with premium grass seed, but the appearance is not from the new seedlings at this point as they have not tillered yet.

@yardmastery I followed this great video last weekend to overseed my yard. After 5 days, I already have sprouts. My question is i read your pdf and you mention a 2nd starter fert app around the 15-21 days after overseeding, i used scotts built for seeding fert could i apply your starter fert for the 2nd app or could using the 2 different starter ferts cause damage ie too much nitrogen,etc ? Thanks in advance.

Allyn, major question, we are in a major major drought here in Ohio. The pattern changes next week, do I pull the trigger and still aerate and overseed still or just pass this year? My front is irrigated so it’s in top shape still making at 4.25”, back and sides are completely dormant. One acre lawn. I can have all the equipment next weekend, cooler temps and rain expected next week. Just curious if I go for it or skip. If I keep waiting it may make the window of opportunity pass. 50-60 days. Thanks as alway for your help.

Hello, I am in Tampa and they just installed 1,300 sqf of St. Augustine. They recommended that I use herbicide to prevent it from becoming contaminated with weeds. Can I apply Celsius at this time of year or do you recommend something else? St. Augustine has only been installed 7 days ago?

Every time I’ve used tenacity in the past, I’ve been instructed to let it dry. Here, you water everything in ASAP. Isn’t that canceling out the tenacity you applied? Also, I think you used more than they say to use - why is that?
