Going to do a low cut, dethatch, mechanical aerate, and reseed. Picked up a 25# bag of Johnathan Green Black Beauty Ultra for reseeding. Received my 4 quart package from Yard Mastery, RGS, Greene Punch, Greene Pop, and Air 8, planning on reseeding some time mid next week. Only have a 2000sq ft. lawn up here in N.J., but really looking forward to seeing the results. Been watching here and other channels. Been hearing a lot of "good" recommendations about these Greene County Fertilizer products on many channels. So, going it give it a try, looking forward to this Halloween with positive result as well as next spring. FYI: picked up my products through Y.M., one, like the channel, two, you folks were running a special.

QUESTION: I am overfeeding my lawn. Tenacity instructions state not to water lawn and to keep "dry" for 6 hours after application. You are putting down seed 1st. Then spraying wet with fertilizer, then spraying with tenacity, then watering. On the one hand it doesn't make sense to put down the seed, then tenacity, peat mass, and wait 6 hours. He'll the wind alone could blow everything off lawn. I thought about putting the tenacity down first, waiting 6 hours, then putting down the grass seed. Should this work? But your not waiting 6 hours at all. I would also like to know why given the 6 hour instruction. Thanks

Why put down green pop at this time since it will feed existing grass and existing grass will outcompete the new grass? The new grass may not use these nutrients for another 2 weeks? please advise how long the green pop nutrients stay in the ground for. thank you.
@yardmastery Жыл бұрын
The grass seed will germinate and start pushing roots within just a few days and the nutrients will still be there. However, if you want to wait and apply 2 weeks after seeding, you can do that too. It will work out just fine either way.

Great video as always. Two questions. First one… if I walk the lawn with a peat moss spreader right after the tenacity/mesotrione is sprayed, is that going to do anything negatively to the spray? I was originally told not to walk on it because I’d be ruining what I sprayed. Thoughts? Two… what is the best way to fix uneven ruts in my lawn? Topsoil before seeding? And top with peat moss? A tree company drove their equipment on my lawn in the spring and rutted up parts of my lawn.
@yardmastery4 ай бұрын
you can walk over it to spread the peat moss - just give it 30 minutes to dry first, you won't hurt anything that way. For the leveling of the ruts, you want to use sand to level. Then when it's leveled out put seed on top and use your covering.

Just getting overseed prep started here in northern NJ (a couple weeks later than I wanted). Is there a particular reason you put the seed down first before applying the Hydretain, RGS, Air8, etc? I plan on putting the seed down last since I'm concerned about moving it around too much by dragging the hose around while spraying the Hydretain or having a ton of seed stuck to my shoes as I spray everything else.

It also really depends on how your soil is. The one step you should do before any of this is to do a soil test and get the results back. If you are more than established with phosphorus in your lawn, there really isn’t a need for equal n-p-k. Keeping your soil as balanced as possible will yield a lot better results in a stronger lawn

you can mulch the clippings, no need to bag and as far as de-thatching, that is only needed if you have a thatch problem where the lawn is spongy and you can't see the soil at all. If that is not the case, then no de-thatching needed.
