Public Domain is a riot! Great characters and a fun "look" behind the curtain as to how made a comic is made. Are you getting the companion comic?

Wouldn't miss it! Can't wait to see the correlation between the book's creation and the actual comic story.

BPVQ didn't end well I didn't think. Art is AMAZING, for real. The story needed a lot more for the message to come through.
@9PanelGrid8 күн бұрын
I'm definitely revisiting this entire story given some time away from it. The nature of the book led me to have expectations as to how the story would progress and it always zigged when I expected a zig. Maybe less expectations will make for a better experience.

Exactly. When the series was on, it was ON. More a reflection on Marvel than Ziglar.

Looks like we pretty much align this week. I like how Conan gave us this long connected story from #1 to #12, with 3 distinct parts and roles for Conan to play. At the same time, it didn't close the book on some parts leaving then open to play out over time but also gave us a clear ending to this chapter. Great storytelling and incredible art too. The cosmic panels were a great touch and added scope beyond the local engagements. Looking forward to more Conan and Savage sword for that matter
@9PanelGrid8 күн бұрын
My hope is that we get a solid 6 issues at least before we even hear the name "Thulsa Doom" uttered. Just leave it a lingering notion in the background until the confrontation is ready.

Rook has been a favorite for me. But I am a fan of animals and think the masks are pretty cool. I get what you are saying about it being kinda likes Power Rangers. I’m just not feeling Blood Hunt. But I haven’t really been reading Marvel stuff lately. I just jumped in on the event to get a feel for McKay since he is going to be on X-men and I have been a fan of Larraz since I read Big Game. Which is probably the last comic event I really enjoyed. Still need to read Sacrificers. I’m behind. Loved Redcoat and Ultimate Black Panther has been consistent.
@9PanelGrid14 күн бұрын
Part of it, for me, might also be a reaction to expectation. I didn't expect much out of Blood Hunt and it's slightly better than that. Rook Exodus is my least favorite Ghost Machine book but it still stands above most other books that hit the stand too. Good call on Big Game!

Thor was less than "meh." It is now on a very short leash for me. We'll see how the Hercules stuff goes. Hellblazer was so good. It was classic Hellblazer. Where does Briar go from here? There is only 2 issues left, right? Wild. Still miss the old art but enjoying the book anyway.

It was a short pull list for me this week. I enjoyed the conclusion of the one hand but like you mentioned, it will be more fulfilling once the 6 fingers concludes. By far my favorite comic was the continuation of The Crying Boy, I can see this comic easily being adapted into a film at some point.

BPVQ: loved it. I like being thrown in the deep end with it and just having to figure it out. My house hold thought, besides me, thought the Bear was a metaphor type thing and not reall there in the first issue but in this one i feel it is hard to deny the Bear is really there. What do you think?

I read that the same way but I'm open to the notion of the book throwing me a curve ball too. I didn't expect the "pirate" portion to drop so quickly

I'm a Michael Avon Oeming fan and he is not heralded enough for his writing. He wrote a Thor run many, many years ago that was excellent. His early side projects were good too, thinking of Blood River.

Agreed, this issue of Hellblazer felt like a bit of a let down after last issue. I get where they are going with it but different stories by different people felt disruptive to me.

@@9PanelGrid I actually really enjoyed Spider Gwen. Similar to yourself I'm not overly familiar with the character but it's done enough to grab my attention. Loved Rook and fairly disappointed with Hellblazer
@LodieLionАй бұрын
Ultimate X-men is an extremely slow burner, there are no X-men technically. None that we know of, so I don’t know what direction they want to go with this story. Yet with the floor plan they have laid out from Ultimate Universe, this can make this one very good X-men story. Thats what I’m hoping for. I’ll try to commit to that for a while.
