This book is just so good and it unjustifiably flies under the radar

BPVQ: loved it. I like being thrown in the deep end with it and just having to figure it out. My house hold thought, besides me, thought the Bear was a metaphor type thing and not reall there in the first issue but in this one i feel it is hard to deny the Bear is really there. What do you think?

I read that the same way but I'm open to the notion of the book throwing me a curve ball too. I didn't expect the "pirate" portion to drop so quickly

Is Kaya available in Trade? I'm interested in the story but would like to catch up on the prior issues

It most certainly is! Volumes 1 and 2 are available now with volume 3 coming out toward the end of June.
