I'm not a sax player and somehow landed here by a stroke of luck. You and that crusty old Selmer nailed it. Could not stop watching! You mentioned your tribute band but not seeing a link :( Please point me in the right direction! Love a good PF tribute band.

You don't have to keep stopping and reading the notes, we could see what you're doing, follow through a little so you can pick up the verse and continuity

The alto sax is an Eb transposing instrument. The original song is in the key of D minor, so the first note, C# sounds as an E, 9 semitones below. In case anyone doesn't know how the alto works.

Hey, Im auditioning for the school band next week. I'm a pretty decent alto player but switching to the tenor has caused me the same problem. I still can't solve why my high G plays an almost screech sound and at a high pitch when I play it. Any idea why?

Have they addressed the issue of timing out after 10min? Perhaps a firmware update? That is the only issue stopping me from purchasing. I sing and play the horn so there are plenty of scenarios where I might not pick up the song for 10min while singing. Having to check if the mic is on all the time is not good for live performances. Thanks for your review!

[Chorus] There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God, I know I'm one [Verse 1] My mother was a tailor She sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans [Verse 2] Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and a trunk And the only time he's satisfied Is when he's on a drug [Instrumental Break] [Organ Solo] [Verse 3] Oh, mothers, tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Rising Sun [Verse 4] Well, I got one foot on the platform The other foot on the train I'm goin' back to New Orleans To wear that ball and chain [Chorus] Well, there is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God, I know I'm one

If you are a beginner, stay away from "teachers" like Rick Beato. Like this video, his lessons escalate in minutes from "The guitar has 6 strings" to "so now you can improvise over jazz chords and borrow from the Lydian asymmetrical diminished scale! Btw, my book is on sale, bla bla bla bla bla".

Arguably the biggest issue with music education via the internet is that good players are everywhere, but very few of them are good teachers. They’re not trained in pedagogy, so you can get the best guitarist in the world and not actually learn a thing from them

Not really there would be like a 45 minute introduction onto like the history of music and then about 30 minutes into the history of stringed instruments and then about one minute on how to actually hold a guitar and then you have to download the next video
