I knew this girl 40 years ago. Knew she had talent then and I loved her for it. Lost touch and I am so glad to see her happy and successful. I have passed her by unrecognised on foot and on Scooter since.x

Abhartach wearing an aristocratic outfit with red-lined cape, signature of Dracula adaptations, is hillariously stupid. Should I trust anything from this video? Or is this an attempt to promote Irish culture, exaggerating Abhartach's influence on Bram Stoker's work? See, you say "we know" that Stoker was there when Wilde told the story. But firstly, I don't know if that is true. And if it is, that still doesn't prove anything about Dracula's origin. We're taking giant leaps and assumptions in an incredibly nuanced reality...

Jörg, thanks for the appreciative comment. My wife Sabine is originally from Itzehoe, the oldest town in Holstein. We've been here for almost 30 years now. I'm glad you enjoyed the music. I'm sure you'll really enjoy yourself when you visit the Causeway Coast & Glens. :-)

If you're curious about the tunes that Ciaran Kelly & I played, here are the details: #1 - Miss Hamilton - This lovely slow tune was composed by Cornelius Lyons (c. 1670 - c. 1740) an Irish harper and composer of harp tunes. He was the harper of the Earl of Antrim. Donnchadh Ó hAmhsaigh, known in English as Denis Hempson, from around Magilligan, also a harper, was a great admirer of Cornelius Lyons and played a number of fine baroque-style variation sets by Lyons. Sadly, only one of the tunes Lyons composed actually survives & this is "Miss Hamilton". #2 - The Coleraine Regatta - This is the tune to an old song which is believed to have been composed by the blind Fiddler of Myroe, James McCurry, who is also responsible for passing on the Derry / Londonderry Air to 'Danny Boy'. The song lyrics were collected by Sam Henry & can be found on page 74 of Sam Henry's 'Songs of the People'. The song mentions a few things of local interest, including 'The Derry Standard', the Coleraine Regatta itself of course, Portrush, 'Newtown' which I believe is the old name for Limavady & the Fife & Drums playing an old tune 'Kate fa Gowrie'. Cheers, Dick
