Jon Pertwee was my introduction to eccentricity, and as a kid back in the 70's watching Dr Who and The Original Star Trek (In NZ we got things a little later than the rest O world) was Absolutely enthralling. Thankyou for this, it brought back good memories of Doc Who rather than the current Doc What-eva.

Here's another version of Manteca from an unreleased concert (with Candido as guest!) that was in danger of being forever lost...until my friend bought the reel on auction and discovered the treasure it held. When I wrote to his daughter, she thanked us for sharing it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXKko4iwa5WLbKssi=JvazJT1HKHIEUnIw

This is the best version of this video on youtube. Arsenio hall was broadcast in stereo and I remember hearing this in stereo when it aired. What makes this performance amazing is Gregory's ghost notes and where hes putting them rhythmically. I would be willing to spend some money to find a HD version of this original stereo broadcast.
