Oh my God, really? Wouldn't Black Sabbath or something else have been a little more appropriate if you HAD to put music in it, it's a radial engine not a purse or a pair of ballet slippers.

Benson's a great jazz musician; i saw him live twice Back in the Day. BUT, how 'bout some info on the engine including its intended applications? Are these built as replacements for vintage engines? I'm figuring it's 3.6 Liters, not 3600 cubic inches!

I didn't see anything related to the lubrication system (drilling the crank, oil pump, etc) on this video. But I assume it must have a dry sump system. I wonder if it uses as much oil per hour as most old radials.

Awesome engine and engineering, terrible music, and that engine on that teeny trailer with any kind of throttle is the most unsettling thing I have seen all month. Sorry to be so negative, but nobody here with a mechanical mind is going to want to hear music.

My question is what are the design criteria for a radial engine. Why use 9 cylinders when that can be achieved with 2, 4 or 5 in V? thank you.

I can't believe you would take a perfectly good George Benson soundtrack and contaminate that great musical masterpiece with a CNC radial engine build.
@dannyoktim9628
@dannyoktim9628 7 жыл бұрын
All the time and precision in this build and you trash it with music. . .no thought went into that did it boys! Consider matching your video production skills to your tooling skills. Even with CNC this is not an easy build, I would've liked in dept details concerning tooling difficulties along with maybe material choices. . . consider that next time . . Please ;)

The music is the best album by George Benson produced by Quincy Jones. Unfortunately, Benson never collaborated with Jones again. Rather than sing racy lyrics for Jones, Benson prefers to make "hot licks" with his guitar.

Come on people, that's just a cooling "propeller", it doesn't even have power enough to tip over the trailer when he revs the engine.
@jimmartin7899

You could design the electronic engine to generate a certain hertz that would generate ultra low temperatures and create a new cooling system? Cryogenic piston technology? Is it the motion of the piston or the vibration that causes low temperatures? If you understand what I am talking about could you not make stand alone refrigerators, air conditioning units and electrical power generators with this engine design? I don't know do you? ; )

Try induction used for cooking with Manson engine design and make this an electronic rotary engine and get away from using fossil fuels. You could try electromagnetic kicked pistons has well. Novartis

Cool process, it inspires me to build a 1/2-scale human-operated B24 or B25. Since it only needs to carry a pilot & maybe a passenger, 150 x 2 would be perfect for a cool twin-engine ride!

Actually, some of us came here to be educated and NOT listen to music. We could stand in an elevator for that. These guys have so much knowledge and have done so much hard work and they tell us nothing? This is a rather horrible format! Thanks for the effort and best of luck.

They just want to show us how cool they are, with a horrible interlaced video. Clearly as you can see, there is no place or room for the man testing the engine at the end of the video. Not even safety measurements for the poor guy.

If you knew what you were looking at, you should know the work and engineering that goes into making such an engine. The music reminds us that we're not (or shouldn't be) at work while watching work being done.

I'm glad that I saw one engine work correctly the first time rather than sputter and stall half a dozen times like the original ones seem to do in the videos. This one is new, so that makes sense. The other original demonstrators must be all out of tune and not synchronized correctly. This is the way it is supposed to work. Thank you. Aarre
