Explain to me the reasons of standing up in a kayak, Do the pros outweigh the cons?
@flbasspaddlerАй бұрын
@@johnguth5376 It speaks to the stability of a kayak. Some anglers who may “punch” for Bass in thick cover tend to want to stand in their kayak. Some anglers I know actually prefer to stand and fish. It is really a matter of preference.

That PDL 120 should have the stand 1/3 of the way from the bow and stern per Old Town's storage tips. Will that stand still fit at that wider point?
@flbasspaddlerАй бұрын
@@wurdwalkupridedown7829 Great question and to be honest, the answer is no. Now, due to the width of the Predator, the Suspenz stands that it is on are not positioned where they should be to your point. Now Suspenz has just released a new model called the Yellow Fin that is made for the widest kayaks on the market. That would be a better fit in my opinion.

How long for the install? Easy unbolt oem and slide in new one? Also, I imagine with the rudder in the stored position, it will no longer clear the ground. One of the things I like about the pred/132’s is because of those 2 high arches in the gunnels, you can easily flip it hull side up to inspect the hull for damage, cleaning, as it clears the rudder.
@flbasspaddler2 ай бұрын
@@mrb401 As far as the install, it takes about 20-25 minutes if done properly. The hardest part is removing and reinstalling the rudder line. This video helped me out a great deal: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5m5apabgdN8e7Msi=PR0OnoJAoRW80sXX

Nice upload man. The Salty is a great hull. Lot of good things about the yak but my cons are - no side pockets from the factory, off set stern handle as you mentioned, hull slap can be annoying & lastly, installing a finder is not the easiest. I also wished Old Town revised their transducer placement. Or maybe have something covering it for protection like Hobies. Otherwise this yak is a winner in my book.
