They need to make the same identical TSB for the 2020-2024 all with the same 8 speed transmission my 2023 does the same stuff I’m so tired of the car because of it! I’ve been complaining as much as I can to dealership and Toyota themselves if nothing gets done I may trade it in, it has 23k miles on it, so if no update comes by next years half way I’ll get rid of it, other then that the car is amazing

Other gauges do that too. Imagine you'd run out of fuel or your car overheated because you were using night panel

The Fuel and Temprature gauge turns back on if you are overheating or have low fuel even if you are on Nightpanel.

On the App store or the Google Play store, it's free. You can purchase additional sounds in the app once you download it. You will need a Bluetooth OBD adapter like the ELM 327 from Amazon as well.

I call my local dealer, they said they have to diagnose and that charge $189 just for diagnosis. Then they will give me a price to fix. Did they diagnose yours?

They charged the hourly rate to install the latest software, it was about $180. If you car has less than 50k miles, I would just tell them to install the latest transmission software update and defer the "diagnosis" unless it's under warranty.

@ Yeah, I called another Toyota I did deferred the diagnosis and tell them the TSB code now they are just gonna charge me for fix. Mine has 96k miles what else you think I should done by dealer.

@misbahuddin4586 if you haven't had the fluid changed yet, get them to change the transmission fluid for sure. Toyota transmissions will last a very long time if the fluids are changed every 30k miles. They are not very tolerant of dirty fluid otherwise

Junk. 18 and 19 are not very good. 14 was the last great one. The 15,16,17 have vvt issues . $ 5.000 fix. The 21 seems OK so far. But my god, people,don't buy a new one . Toyota is making junk now

I have a 07 9-3 auto tranny, 190k miles, and the transmission has heavy slipping. From what the codes that come off it say, it has a problem getting into 5th gear. And the car has a big problem accelerating without vibrating and sometimes revving way to high while it tries to shift then goes back down to normal rpm’s. I took it into an auto shop and they said the whole tranny needs to be replaced. Should I try replacing the tranny fluid? Or just replace the whole tranny. Also someone told me I should maybe check to see if it’s the ignition switch because I’ve seen that has caused a lot of problems.

That's a major bummer, but yes, there may be hope. The neutral safety switch or shift position sensor is attached to the top of the transmission, if it has gone bad it can have the same symptoms as leaking valve body. It's probably worth replacing that first with a unit from eBay or RockAuto. Definitely drain the transmission fluid and refill with the correct amount, you want to use The Mobil or Aisin fluid. I think I have a video on the transmission fluid change. It is possible at 190,000 mi and the prior owner not changing. The fluid has resulted in a leaking valve body and thus the inability for the car to shift into fifth gear, no transmission has lifetime fluid in it after all. So if it wasn't maintained before you bought it then it's possible it has gone out prematurely.

I did this, and ended up putting the muffler back on. My head was spinning from the rumbling in lower rpms... Sounded super nice though

If nothing else is working, try this...strangely it worked (from a forum) "On the morning going to the appointment, the light went off. I got to the service dealer, he hooked up a scanner, it read that my gas cap was defective. He asked if I fill my car up with gas and go and click more than 2 to 3 times after the gas is full. He said that I'm putting to much gas in. Over flow of gas goes into the charcoal filter. Don't over fill the gas tank. So far so good. Hope this helps you out."

@@sproutboot Next is to make a physical inspection of the connectors and wiring inside the shroud where the rearview mirror is attached. Ensure the connections are tight and there are no signs of corrosion on the connectors, moisture in the housing.

Is the correct procedure for removing all of the transmission fluid. I ask this because I know in domestic vehicles the torque converter contains transmission fluid and to actually correctly do the procedure you need a machine to completely remove all fluid. Is this or not the case for toyota?

@@thomasshort6738 in many vehicles, draining will not completely empty the torque converter. This transmission will not completely empty, but the majority of the fluid will be changed as a result of draining. The estimated service interval of 60,000 miles with the mostly new fluid should result in a lifetime of service regardless. The main thing people get wrong (not you) is getting the correct fill level after the fluid is heated.

AND I Have been doing further reading and there are many that do not recommend removing all fluid, specifically from the torque converter. So you have valid point.

It's possible the straw was removed and never put back, it is an important part to ensure the proper fluid level, without it. The fluid could be measured and put back in but it is not recommended

Quick question i cant seem to find on google, is the muffler in the middle or at the end of the exhaust? I just want to know which one is the muffler and which one is the resonator so i dont cut off the wrong thing lol.

It's close to the rear bumper. The resonator is the larger one under the cabin.
