Had a unusual road to karting . Became a regular customer at a indoor track and some thought I would do good racing outside . In 09 and 10 worked a Saturday job to race in 2 different series ! In 2011 was offered a job at a track . Got to race for free and the rest of time did double duty as a track marshal . Ran my own kart for a few years then life took a ugly turn but still do some rental races and managed scored 9 podiums in 13 races last year ! By the time found out was a decent racer was already a washed up never was 😁 . Wish I knew at 15 what I found out at 35 and just turned 56 last week ! At least can claim second best racer born on Jan 7 ! Was one of very few Canadians that got to see Lewis Hamilton race karts as a kid !!

I race a 225 on my dirt kart except I have a coil, methanol tillotson carb and an ultralight flywheel. This a very quick engine on dirt it runs with some of the open class karts with much larger engines. I turn mine over 8,600 last weekend.

Hi, thank you very much for this very interesting video, you taught me a lot! I understand that cleaning your kart every day is very important but considering all the problems you have had with your kart, don't you think that by changing and cleaning your parts so many times there is a bigger risk of parts that breaks or are loosely attached causing your problems? Or is it just bad luck? Thanks!

hey man, all of the failures we had were bad luck unfortunately. All parts that broke were pretty new (only a few days of usage at most), and the chain was completely new at the start of the day

Look at your closest track and try join the race league there (rental) don’t look into owner karting if you don’t know how to turn the steering wheel 😂 (abit exaggerated but I wouldnt recommend ss you could destroy the kart and it could cost a lot for spare parts or re straightening the chassis or getting a new kart; and all the work that comes with it)
