Great video! I am using 3 lithium batteries of 100 AMH for my boat, 2 for my 24 V trolling motor, one for the electronics and starting the boat engine. The generator with the engine is charging the starting battery when the engine is running. Is the charging interfering with the electronics? Should I disconnect the generator from charging after the engine is started?
@MidwestOutdoorExperience14 сағат бұрын
@@ABC-jb2rg generally no, the alternator or being hooked to the starting battery doesn’t cause any interference. If you’re getting weird interference that is something you can try isolating to see if it helps though.

Just installed mine on a 9’ Avon RIB. Really appreciate your video. I used a fine sharpie to outline the shape of the taped on keel guard, then applied the masking tape about an 1/16” outside the line. I wanted to be sure that the primer was well beyond the edge of the guard to hopefully prevent future de lamination. Biggest challenge was keeping my shop at 65 degrees (32 outside)! Thanks so much for your time and effort making this video- (note: alcohol easily removed the sharpie marks)

How has that swing arm mount held up now that it's been installed for a couple of years? I am looking to buy the same thing and set it up similarly, just want to know if you had to upgrade to something more substantial. I am a cruiser man.. if it’s slick calm I’ll go fast and enjoy it but when it’s rough I’m that guy going 20 and my buddy’s are passin my 225 mercury looking at me like I’m the crazy one but safety is first!! Going up wind on ky lake even will teach ya in that current and north south the way it’s set up and shallow . When they let water out , the winds get bad it can be like being on an ocean . Hey mate, you mentioned the horizontal range displayed isn't correct due to slant distance taking into account of water depth, this makes perfect sense. My question is, you can put a marker/way point during side scan, I.e if I see a bottom brush to the side of the boat I can mark it then use my trolling motor to spot lock me there, but will it be accurate taking into account of slant distance or will the marker be off distance as well? Tia
@MidwestOutdoorExperience26 күн бұрын
@@SushiReel waypoints are made in relation to the bottom (slant range distance). If you have your GPS and waypoint position set up correctly (I have a video on that too) then it will be accurate.

A trick that helps a lot is using finesse braid Something in the 20- 30lbs range Finesse braid has a very thin diameter and is very strong but with little rotating mass. So when you skip and it’s not perfect the spool doesn’t keep spinning.

Yeah I lost one last year and learned more about how important it is to not “dirty up a spot” for a dog. They smell by the scent and not by blood so I knew if I wanted to find that deer that I needed to be patient and let the dog do the work! Unfortunately it just didn’t work out. The dog really acted like that deer wasn’t hurt too bad at all. I hope and pray he lives and finds his way back to me.
