I was so pumped up until I saw my arrow, then the doubts began to roll in. I hope he lives to see another day!

They are insanely tough creatures but I still can’t believe it either.

Still can’t believe that shot and the sign that followed. Great footage! Unfortunate circumstances

I agree. So many things to taken away from the whole hunt. I’ve learned a lot from this hunt. I try to put it out there for all to see!

Wow, I can't believe he's still walking. Great shot, you were very cautious, even getting the dog out there. Most of us would have just keep pushing with that shot footage

Yeah I lost one last year and learned more about how important it is to not “dirty up a spot” for a dog. They smell by the scent and not by blood so I knew if I wanted to find that deer that I needed to be patient and let the dog do the work! Unfortunately it just didn’t work out. The dog really acted like that deer wasn’t hurt too bad at all. I hope and pray he lives and finds his way back to me.

Wow...What broadhead were you using?
@MidwestOutdoorExperienceАй бұрын
Swacker 2” 2 blade. They hadn’t let me down until this time. Killed a doe with one the following weekend and she went 60 yards. Crazy. If I had to guess my broad head didn’t open until after it went through and hit the other side (leaving a 1 inch cut vs a 2 inch cut). Just a guess but I still can’t fathom the lack of blood we found.

@@MidwestOutdoorExperience I just watched another video that was a good hit with the same result. He was also using a Swacker. They open inside the animal if at all. G5megameats are rear deployed and produce large holes on both sides. Just saying.

If you look at a deer anatomy target it looks like you clipped one lung and gut shot. Unfortunately, a gut shot deer will die almost all the time. I hope this is an exception. Good luck and I hope you or a neighbor finds him.

Thank you. I really feel the same. I’m trying to stay optimistic but we’ll see if someone finds him or if my miracle he shows back up. He was a major home boy on us.

It happens to all bow hunters at some point. It’s just part of bow hunting. Good luck the rest of the season.

Who films a lost deer?
@MidwestOutdoorExperienceАй бұрын
@@Fiddleplayer7 someone who wants people to see that is happens and there is always something to learn from the experience. Hope to have a follow up video on him to close out his story someday.
