Large roof over hangs are beautiful and protect the doors, windows and siding from rain and moisture damage. Water is the enemy of buildings. Architects and home builders need to bring back large roof over hangs

I absolutely love this! I lived in Albany for 26 years! It was the absolute best! I only moved 8 minutes away but I miss it still

This idea is something that needs to be looked at as the housing crisis escalates, new efficiencies and the ease to assemble is a win win. But made with the quality to last more than a lifetime

The abandoned Lustron that they stood near is a rare model. Around here, west central Ohio, the Westchester model, in Maize yellow, is common.

You could make so many different murrine patterns with those sheet scraps and a fusing oven 😱😱😱

I wonder if they will hire me as a ladler. Ive ladled poured clear glass into ooen faced sand molds to produce solid castings before but never color.

Now we use densely colored bars of opalescent glass in blowing operations much like their rolled sheets. Amazing time to be a glass artist. KOG definitely did and still does enjoy that world wide footprint alright.

The Tiffany series sheets are always fun, i have been meaning to ask them if its possible to create those patterns in glass thats compatible with blowing glass. Could be nest to have Tiffany color patterns on my own shapes. Always dis admire their products.

Kokomo glass is breathtaking. If you think it’s pretty in this video, you should see it in real life- it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen. I almost don’t like to use it cus it kinda breaks my heart to make that first cut! I could just frame the sheets and keep them for myself. I really appreciate every individual piece. I hope you guys know how much joy your glass brings people. You are true artists!

Hello Ann! We purchased a home in Hudson Valley, NY, about 5yrs ago. I learned that it was an Ariel Shull home, her last design, before she passed away. It's called the "Stone & Wood Style" Plan 3009. Unfortunately, when the original homeowners built this home, in 1987, they did not keep all the allarchitectural features from the original design. I would love to incorporate some of the original designs when we renovate. I'm looking to see if anyone else has this design house, so I can see how the original floor plan was laid out. Thank you for your video!

I recently found some pictures online of, what I believe is, that plan. I had recalled seeing that plan in a houseplan book 30+ years ago. Then, as I looked more closely, I realized that it's almost identical to a home (that was built in the '80s) that a friend of mine had purchased a couple years ago (which had been remodeled, so it may not have retained the original features, either)😮 I'm not sure if those pictures would be helpful to you (they're not super detailed, just a drawing of the house plan & front elevation, and a couple of shots from a, separate, magazine article..)? But, if they would be, I'm not sure how to get them to you (don't know how to post pictures on here🤔)?

As a kid growing up in Carmel in the 70s & 80s I was slightly aware of Avriel. I was aware of Thornhurst from going to Carmel Jr. High, just 2 blocks away and having friends who lived in the adjacent apartments. We would play in the forests just north of the development. As I entered High School my interest in art, design, and building lead me toward Architecture. The Carmel High School Vocational Technology class would build a home each year from plans developed by the Architecture classes and the last home to be built in Thornhurst was just such a home. I was only just starting in the classes so can only claim a fraction of the involvement with 37 Thornhurst Dr. but it still counts as credit goes to all the students. As the video states, no. 37 is only one of 4 homes ( 11:05 ) not designed by Avriel in Thornhurst but I can claim a tiny bit. I went on to study Architecture and finished my formal education, getting licensed as an Architect in 1998. I like to think I was a little inspired by Avriel as I grew up around her work in Carmel.
