Slack tide is NOT halfway between high and low tides. Slack tide lasts for 30 minutes to an hour right at high and low tide. Like the video though!

Hello, thanks for tuning in. Actually slack tide as referred to here is when the current is almost not moving, and that is between high and low tide. Pull up your tide/current tables on your chart plotter and it will show when both occur. A lot of people have that same misconception.

Easy visible demonstration would be go to a bridge in the keys halfway between high and low tide. Current is ripping in or out then. Also enjoyed the video but had to comment on that. Btw, former charter captain and current maritime pro running small boats in shallow water.
