Holy Handlining a Mutton Bat Man.... LOL That thing was a monster, I guess you do what you got to do. I have never seen a Black Fin Tuna in person, but I think that is the largest I've ever seen on KZbin. As always, I enjoyed the cooking too. Dan and Elizabeth come up with some really cool recipes also. Thanks for taking us along Micky

Nice video. Never caught a mutton drifting without continually letting line out so bait isn’t dragging the bottom. Do you keep your pinfish off the bottom while drifting?
@marathonsportfishing13 күн бұрын
I hit the bottom with the weight then reel up about 3 cranks, go a couple of minutes, and hit again every couple of minutes and reel up 3 cranks, there is 40' between the bait and weight

It does! Very difficult to tell the difference for us color blind kids. I think the eyes of the silk are VERY yellow.

Hi Capt Matt, love your videos. Learn something every time. Thank you! I like the idea of the almond crust. Question; what seasoning did you use with crushed almonds? I didn’t see any salt nor pepper. Was it seasoned off camera?
@marathonsportfishing18 күн бұрын
I didn't hit anything else on the fish, I fried in in a little bit of sesame oil which adds a bit of extra flavor as well.

When trolling do you only troll down current or do you turn around after a pass and troll back up current?
@marathonsportfishing18 күн бұрын
OK if I'm trolling around a wreck or some bottom structure I will actually do a figure 8. This way the baits get presented down, across and with the current. Seems like some days they will bite any direction and some days only one.

How can I not get sea sick please help me out
@marathonsportfishing20 күн бұрын
Hey Edgar, OK not an expert here but I used to get seasick a lot. I got over it after a few years of diving. Big thing is not to be drinking a lot the night before! It helps some people to take a dramamine the night before and then like a half of one the next morning. Some people get prescribed the patch and it seems to workl If I would take a whole one in the am I would be sleeping on the boat. Otherwise do a google search and see what else others have done.

I have been on a pizza dough kick recently if you want some really in depth pizza dough recipe. Charlie Anderson is really good and gives free google spreadsheets to copy that auto populate quantities of ingredients for size pans
@marathonsportfishing24 күн бұрын
Nice! I worked on hand making dough for about 6 pizzas and it really improved the crust. It's easy to mix too much in the blender.

Are the blackfin generally bigger in the winter down there? We get them up here out of Ponce Inlet in the spring, and they're usually 20 pounds or so. Pizza looked freaking awesome too.
@marathonsportfishing25 күн бұрын
I don't think they vary a lot. There is a migration 2x per year Jan-Feb and August. 20# is a very nice blackfin for the keys.
