Great work on designing and releasing an excellent product. China is extremely dangerous enemy of the USA. Every American made product protects our future. Let's push our leaders to increase manufacturing in the USA. I look forward to having another IDI or OBS Ford diesel in general. I will be a customer!

Are these needed for a 93 F-250 or does my factory setup not have the air-sucking issue? Getting ready to put a junk yard motor into my truck and want to get yours if I need it.
@dregsdiesel7 ай бұрын
Yes, these are for your 93 7.3idi, the factory setup is problematic at sucking air in.

International harvester had an option special order for a 6 cyl diesel engine in 1961, then the scouts had diesel option in 1976. International harvester did not have the 6.9idi in any tractor at all unless its homemade one or an ultra rare experimental model. It was based off the mv404 gas engine and it's production tooling. Ford has always owned the powerstroke name and they developed and manufactured the 6.7 no involvement by international Navistar. Lover the caps tho nice work

It was funny that I ran IDI engines for years and the only issues that I had with the plastic caps was faulty installation techniques if you look in your owner's manual it gives you a specific link to cut the hoses and if you cut the hoses to the correct link you won't have leakage issues the leakage occurs with the O-rings unless it's a million-year-old truck in the lines just rotted

My 6.9L IDI threw a rod in the exact same spot but on the driver side of the engine haha, I still drove it home like that. Somehow if I threw a battery in it right now, it’d still start just fine. Toughest engine Ive ever had.

Question I have a 93 with the same 7.3 idi block and on start it blows white going up hills it losses power and blows black and also after running for a while won't start until cold and ideas I have a idea of the cause but would like outside opinion's
@dregsdiesel Жыл бұрын
Sounds like your may have an injector that is not closing all the way. The white smoke is from unburned diesel. If one injector is hotter than the rest that is the one with a problem. If the truck is hot and won’t start the injection pump is wore out and needs to be rebuilt. Next time it won’t start pour cold water on the injection pump and see if it starts up!

So what’s the game changer with it, besides looking good and you have more room for clamp? Does it help mpg, will it run better, is it more fuel efficient, who cares if they last a lifetime. For almost 300 the OEM caps are pennies. What’s the game changer? Why buy this product? If they were a fraction of the price he’ll yeah, but if it makes no difference in efficiency than why bother? They look cool and that’s awesome, but you got to come up with a better selling point than last a lifetime.

I’ve got a 91 e350 short school bus with 7.3 idi and after doing a whole new cooling system I find water getting into the oil, so I’m guessing it’s got a cracked head ? At this point I want to take the engine out and go thru it, id much rather swap a Cummins and different trans but just more money
@dregsdiesel Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s most likely a cracked head, taking them both off and getting them tested and freshened up will cost you $600-1000 or you could just find another 7.3idi for the same price. Cummins would be nice but your looking at $1,500 for a running VE pump 12valve to $4,000 for a good running 12valve with p-pump
