I have a question that you may be able to help with... I purchased a DJI Mini 4 Pro Plus for recreational use. As I was doing initial setup a couple days ago I was prompted through the RC to take TRUST and do the quiz/test. I spent the time and got everything correct. I still haven't received any email recognizing that I took and passed the course. So now where do I go or what can I do to get the certificate that is recommended that I keep on me when I fly the drone?

videoing a wedding is no different under the law than videoing a family reunion or vacation time at the beach etc. Yes you can't fly directly over people in virtually any circumstance. That does not mean you can not get great video without flying directly over people, which is the same constraint you have in any other circumstance.

Your contorted interpretation of Good Will makes the most sense when you consider you are in the business of selling training. Of course you want to make it seem like just about anything you do with the video of your drone requires you to have a part 107. The Good Will examples you point out are all about helping public organizations such as a school football team, etc. That is far different from friends and family. I suppose next you are going to tell me that if I simply show drone videos to friends & family that a part 107 is required. The friends & family is such an obvious example that if what you say was true the FAA would have made that example explicit if it meant that.

First, the strip is under Clark County jurisdiction, not the City of Las Vegas. Second, you also need to consider the most sidewalks on the actual strip are actually considered to be on private property of the resorts and they can stop you from operating on them. Third, expect to be stopped by LVMPD, even if you have LAANC approval. They use city-wide drone detection software and can see where you and the drone both are in real time. The strip is also blanketed with Public Safety cameras monitored by LVMPD's Fusion Watch, on top of all the casino security cameras. There is little they can't see. FW at one-time took notifications from operators who had LAANC approval ahead of time but they no longer want you contacting them unless you are working with on of the properties. If you have LAANC approval, your Part 107, and ID all on-hand and ready you won't have a problem. But do make sure you are following all Part 107 rules like altitude limita, line of sight, not operating over people/vehicles etc, FW knows all regs and they have been educating all patrol officers of them and have them ready for reference. Last, Nevada has some drones laws too you need to be aware of like operating with 500' horizontal or 250' vertical of Critical Infrastructure like power stations and power transmission lines. Most of the power stations are not visible from the ground but there are some around. NRS 493 for reference...

This whole drone regulation thing is all big daddy government over reach. It has been detrimental to the model aviation hobby. On top of that it is convoluted and way overdone, as is the case with most FAA (or any government agency) regulations. A prime example: Lets say someone has a DJI Mini 2 that they use strictly for recreational use, and they want to teach a younger person to fly that Mini. So trying to be a responsible person they put the blade cages that came with it on just for added safety. But now that they've done that they've exceeded the max weight to be recreational and now that drone has to be registered, plus remote ID installed, oh and don't forget that now its not able to be classed for the recreational exemption... that kid that wanted to learn to fly that drone now has to be licensed as a part 107 aircraft operator or get hit with a fine up to $32000 and isn't even out of grade school yet? And just because you put on blade cages to be on the safe side, that's Straight Dictatorship BS. Even more so when you consider the government and its smooth brained FED boys don't have to abide by the same regulations.

Here’s a quick question. I am currently a recreational drone pilot. I’m currently studying for the part 107. However, I practice daily with my drones in order to hone in on my flying techniques. I live in a new development and currently phase two is now underway. I sought out and received permission from the builder/organization to fly my drones over and around the twelve acre project whilst practicing drone maneuvers. Keep in mind, this is private property with permission to fly. Does this then allow me to fly over the people who are working on the construction site on a daily basis?

Only FAA regulations can restrict you from flying in the air. The only restriction a property owner can impose is if you are taking off or landing on their property. Be mindful that they can still call the police if they believe that you are violating privacy, "peeping tom", but just for flyovers or points of interest, you should be fine.

This is crazy! This is another way of DJI controlling this drone and how it works. The question is... Does DJI have full control where this drone is built? Does the country where this drone have the same rules for not allowing China's control in production? The answer is NO! So, this is a loop-H that banned products can be produced no in banned countries but they still have 100% full control how things are. Software is a convert it up, any parts of the drone can have hidden malware and no matter what you use it, the malware could do anything when enter the USA ISP. This is how the USA functions today! A bunch of idiots in power.

Who cares if DJI is Chinese, or sends data to China? Oh no, they might know how long my last flight was... Or, they can see a lower information version of what their chinese satellites can see, or even google maps. Its not like in storing my social and bank details on the drone, or flying in top secret government black sites. There's no data from the thing they could get better or easier in a different way. What benefit is some random data from an average American dude, doing nothing secretive, to the Chinese government? The only real issue about it being chinese instead of American is because the US government can't use to spy on you. The US government loves to spy on and invade the privacy its citizens, and then use that data against you. Honestly, i feel more secure and comfortable with a chinese drone, and the US government unable to steal my data, because they can and will use it against people. Unlike DJI, where even if they did harvest the data, theres no way they can use it against me.

HOLY HS1T! - I thought we had it bad in the UK but this is just mental! For starters when we lost our access to hand guns we got compensation (about a 3rd to a half of the actual value) but what I see here is USA fliers losing their drones altogether! How many people can afford >$5000 for a drone let alone $7600. All those people with legacy drones will be legally grounded and for why? Yes some idiots fly in an irresponsible manner and need action taking against them but this looks to be taking the pass-time / hobby / business and making it totally unreachable to many. Is this why its really happening? Remove the sales and remove the idiot fliers? Is it just home economics driving this?

1:45 "If you are a commercial pilot, all drones, regardless of weight, must comply." The structure of that statement carries a high potential for it to be misinterpreted. Obviously, if taken literally, it makes no logical sense, and hence, it is not exactly what the narrator had intended to communicate. However, ignoring the semantics of the statement, there is a more subtle potential issue with what the narrator had wanted to express, and what his words actually state. In order to gain comprehension of what the narrator is communicating to us, we must ignore the literal meaning of the sentence as it is constructed because obviously not all drones need to be in compliance based solely on the fact that one is a commercial pilot of drones. A safe assumption to make would be to interpret it as not "all drones", but instead "all drones flown by said commercial pilot" because the child down the street from the commercial drone pilot does not have to comply with registration if his drone weighs 200 grams. According to what the statement communicates, the child would have to register his drone, but that is not my issue here, for I believe most of us can easily determine that the literal translation of the narrator's statement is not what was meant. (The majority of English speakers are semantically oblivious, and therefore they will never reach the literal meaning of most communications they create, or absorb, and being that most people communicate in a similar fashion, such a nonspecific construction of generalities expressed loosely will tend to suffice most of the time.) The literal translation won't even be considered by most people, or if they have the lingual awareness to consider such a translation, they will likely reach the conclusion that the narrator is not speaking in any strict, literal sense, and therefore, they will interpret the narrator's words loosely, and not literally. Yet, even without a literal translation, there is something about the statement that bothers me because I can not determine from the narrator's words how to interpret them as applied to a commercial drone pilot. Now, a commercial drone pilot must register their drones with the F.A.A., even the ones that weigh under the 250 grams limit, the limit where noncommercial drone pilots are not required by law to register their drone when it weighs under said limit. That much is understandable, but what about the commercial drone pilot's leisurely flying time? What about their drones that weigh less than 250 grams, and which they never utilize for commercial purposes? Is the commercial drone pilot required to register their drones weighing less than 250 grams, and which are never piloted for commercial use, and only for personal, recreation? Or does it not matter, and because the commercial drone pilot has a license, are they then required by law to register every one of their drones regardless of weight, and type of usage? If a commercial drone pilot owns the same type of drone as Timmy, the neighborhood brat down the street, and it weighs under 250 grams, and neither of their drones are being flown in any commercial capacity whatsoever, then what would be the logic behind making the commercial drone pilot register their drone, but Timmy is not required to register, especially when Timmy is more likely to cause problems with his drone than the highly skilled, and knowledgeable commercial drone pilot with a license? How would such a scenario be justified? Basically, I can understand that a commercial drone pilot being required by law to register all of their drones that are used commercially, but I can not form any logical basis for a commercial drone pilot to register their drones that are only used for personal, and noncommercial, purposes when any noncommercial drone pilot would not be required to register the same drone.

Are you "furthering commerce"? This includes having your youtube channel APPLY for monetization. Your question is structured as "I own X, is that a problem?" Which doesn't make sense. What you're likely asking is if you're asking about using your drone for ag uses - which is furthering commerce, so yes you'd need a 107. (I got mine recently) If you're flying purely for fun in the US, then you'd need a TRUST certificate. I got mine from Pilot Institute.
