First movie i ever saw, i was just a little guy maybe 8 The century theatres when they still existed. Stuck in my head the fact he had to leave his daughter for a crime he didn't do. Saw it again last year at 55. Different but made me think a lot. I loved the song then and now. Thanks Thom

When I was kid I used to think I would wander off into the woods and live off the land, usually after being told off. This song was in my mind plus the opening song from the same film. It's a nice warm feeling whenever I hear it, thank you

Thom. Great voice, great words, great music. This song takes me back to my childhood watching Grizzly Adams. We had simple lives and dreamt big. Thanks for this version. I can’t tell you how many times this song enters my mind. Wish I could get a professionally recorded version to keep forever.

Yes, it was written as the second verse, but never used in the original recording. It is used on the live reggae version that was released in 2010, but this is the only other version it is on. Hope you liked it and thanks for noticing. 😊

I could write a novel about what this song means to me. But to make it short, this song is probably the most important song in my entire life. It has accompanied me in so many situations throughout my life - and will continue to do so. I just love it.

Thom, I used to watch Grizzly Adams with my mom. She loved that show, and she loved your song. Even when she got older and lost her sight, she'd still sit and listen. Makes my heart smile when I remember hearing her humming to your beautiful song. Thank you for the joy you brought to her❤️

Mr. Pace, I just wanted to thank you for posting this. It took me right back to the simplicity and peace of being 8 years old and dreaming of living in the woods with grizzly bear. I knew this song by heart as a kid and I still know it. As stated before, Grizzly Adams wouldn’t have been the same without your talents. Please know you greatly impacted a young boy in Phoenix, AZ in the late 70’s Thank you for this gift.

Thom, do you have a studio/better recording of this version? Like everyone else here, I love this song. I always wanted it to go for longer, like American pie. The extra verse made my day. I’ve watched it over and over today and your voice is still as calming as ever. Thank you very much.
@thompace33169 ай бұрын
Hi, Kerry. The only other recording that has all the verses is a reggae live single version of the song on Spotify, etc. I appreciate your compliment, and I’m glad you enjoy the song. The title of the single is “Maybe (Theme from Grizzly Adams live 2010)”. Thanks again.

This was the first song I really paid attention to when I was younger watching re-runs of Grizzly Adams in the 80's here in the UK. It was only when I saw they were re-running it again in 2003 that I watched it again and finally found out who sung the song, and hearing it again after nearly 20 years made me cry. I now own a digital copy of the song, and I will be buying Grizzy Adams on DVD next year. Thank you Thom for writing and singing such a beautiful and wonderful song.

Thom, this is one of the most beautiful songs that harkens to the human spirit of freedom and of humanity's connection with the natural world. I loved the show, Grizzly Adams, but a big part of this show was your wonderful theme song. It inspires; it paints a picture of beauty and peace, and it truly lifts my spirit every time I hear it. You sing beautifully, that soaring and soothing tenor touches the soul. You also play the piano so beautifully. Your technique is supple; your playing is wonderfully textured; the rhythm is spot on; you embellish tastefully, and your articulation and phrasing gives sparkle, color, and life to the lyrics, and your powerful chord progressions and the use of diminished sixths -- I think I detected some -- and sevenths adds wonderful harmony and gravitas, and your creative interludes adroitly connects the verses. Thank you so much for posting this. Oh, and I was so thrilled to hear another verse. So much meaning and story telling going on.

Wow!! One of the most moving songs I've ever heard.. I was 5 when that show came on - just as others said the song made the show. I can play it over 20 times and never get tired of it.. So remarkable.. The producer of the show was pretty smart to have you create that song.. Question - On the TV version was that a Mellotron in the background? I love that version.
