It really does seem like Cora was empathizing with Will in this scene. She was probably having flashbacks to her time with Rumplestiltskin, and HER dilemma of choosing Power over Love. In this case, Will was choosing Peace over Love. This might be one of the only times Cora did something out of actual KINDNESS and pity, rather than her thirst for power.

This scene also shows that Snow is starting to trust Regina again, because Regina literally could have crushed Snow's heart instead, but she didn't. And Regina is genuinely concerned for Snow and feels bad that they have to kill David. This is one of my favorite scenes because it shows Regina and the Charmings starting to care for each other and form a friendship.

Peter pan has always been evil. In the original story he killed the lost boys when the pirates didn't. Its also infered the pirates are just grown up lost boys trying to stop him. The original draft had peter only no pirates.

There were no more portals THIS time because Regina reversed the curse (hey, that rhymes 🤭) but once Snow cast ANOTHER one than they could travel back and forth again. Remember, after giving Emma and Henry false memories, Regina and the others all appeared back in the Enchanted Forest in the exact same clothes as when the curse originally hit. David even still has blood on his shirt from when he was stabbed getting Emma to the wardrobe.
