I just saved an 01 CL type s from the scrap yard it was about to be crushed but luckily I scooped it up for $400 bough t a waterpump/timing belt kit with new tensioner and tensioner pulleys and got it bk together and it runs flawlessly..it had jumped 1 tooth out of time so the person I bought it from figured it was too far gone to fix thank God cause I love this car..238,000 miles on it and alot of potential yet..still have a few bugs to weed out but nothing I believe to be major..transmission pulls hard and shifts strong..really impressive performer for what it is..interior as far as the seats go..they're pretty sad..I never understood perforated leather seats..unless maybe for air conditioned seats but unmaintained leather is not gonna stand up to any wear and tear anyway but I really enjoyed the video..I learned a few more stats on the car so thanks 👍

The key with second gens is avoid the 5 speed autos. They had lubrication issues and a recall because the spline shaft would snap. Very dangerous. The 4 speed auto found only in the 99 didn't have those issues. One reason they offered a fix that took fluid from the return line on the external trans filter to plumb it into the fill area via a special nipple fitting. Some call it the jetpack. It's one number off from the old part number. Parts person might not be aware it exists but a technician will.

In 95 a friend of mine was graduating from law school and wanted to get an appropriate car. But she wanted fun & was open to a sleeper, on a budget. I knew the Vigor as a secret sports sedan, but had never driven one. We found a Black/brn leather 92 GS with the 5-speed. It was a stagger to pop the hood and see a longitudinal engine in a Honda. I drove it and, per reputation, it was firmly suspended and definitely leaned to handling over ride. Sweet Honda shifter and that lovely motor and its hard but smooth sound. Great snarl down low, loved the revs. Lovely. I didn't want to push it, as she was going to take my advice. I just said it was in great shape and priced right, even if they didn't come down (they did). She drove it, "Why doesn't everyone want this car? Why is it a secret?" She LOVED that car, had it for years, extended its life way past what made sense, thanked me a zillion times. Cool black chick in a cool black car. Miss you, Wendy. Hey, I want my plant back.

Funny. I have a 2003 CL type S 6MT that I purchased brand new in September, 2002. I ordered the Anthracite over black and without the navigation. I have the factory authorized dealer optioned, dealer installed wing. And, just like the Aegean Blue one shown, it came with the delay release "Honda Rot" in the forward aspect of the right rear wheel well. The other 3 wheel wells are fine. I wonder is this planned obsolescence? I saw a red 2003 Type S two blocks from my home and the only wheel well that contained "rot" was the right wheel well. I still drive this car and it now has 257,000 miles on it. Classic, but it needs a paint job too.

This platform is pretty well built and I think they were cautious with the engine tune instead of squeezing every last MPG out of it. Its not one of those D/I engines. The one thing that kills me though is I have now installed 7 sets of axles on my FWD at 150k on the clock. They just dont last and I'm glad AZ has a lifetime warranty. I can do them during an oil change now and at least they made it easy. If you have to change them, make sure to keep your OEMs and consider rebuilding. They have some features aftermarket doesnt and Raxles wont make me a pair. Now I'm hunting for decent replacement suspension and wheel bearings.

The 7th gen accord not the first accord offered HFP lip kit. The lip kit was debuted in 6th Gen Accord coupe (98-00 only). The 06-07 V6 sedan did come with 6spd manual options. Look for Acura TL-S/CL-S wheel with red V6 badge. The 6-6 accord was underrated when it was new, routinely we gapped RSX-S, S2000, 350z and G35 coupe from 40 rolls. I was looking for one but ultimately end up with a 3rd gen TL-S.

I have a 2003 Anthracite CL Type S with the 6 speed Manual. I took delivery of it September 30, 2002. A few minutes before arriving at the dealership to pick up the car, I stopped at a U.S. Post Office branch and mailed in my final payment for my 1996 Acura Integra LS SE Hatchback. I departed for the dealership about an 8th of a mile away and traded for the CL, of which I ordered about a week prior. I ordered it WITHOUT the navigation system and with the wing. It came with the wing plus the splash guards on all four wheels. I added the dealer optional body side molding. That's still the way she stands now except: - severe rust in the right rear wheel well; - paint on the top surfaces of the vehicle's body is wearing off; - The tires (always Michelin) are (since the 3rd set replacement) one size wider and one size taller than the OEM sized ones; lost a little in handling but gained a little in ride; - 3rd set of aftermarket wheels. It's my daily driver. It has over 256,000 miles on it. It would have more but I've got other cars to drive, all newer ones (Acura's).
