@@Jesus.h.g You have to put both tranny's side by side and swap the warmer/cooler on top, the neutral switch and the 3/4th pressure switch harness. I haven't done it but there is a whole thread in a forum somewhere - you have to search it up as I don't recall the site. I also watch a YT vid on this, just search.

You must of really read my comments because you finally are doing this review. I have first hand knowledge about these cars. 1.1999 honda accord coupe v6 2.2001 acura cl type s 31999 acura tl 99 accord torque converter 01 acura cl type s Had the accord torque converter transmission replaced with aftermarket NOT OEM parts with 2 year unlimited mileage. Zero issues after that. 01 acura cl type s rebuilt transmission with 18 month unlimited warranty. Zero issues. Now to the info i never ever knew. My wife 99 acura tl 4 speed zero issues with 279k on dash right now. Dealer maintained with 2 timing belt and water pumps and all maintenance. Those 4 speed with bulletproof with dealer maintenance. My 2003 acura cl type s with timing belt water pump at 125k still going strong. Don't drive that much now with 150k. Those v6 5 speed ,torque converter and transmissions are absolute garbage and that's why acura fell off. They didn't fix the issue and only gave you the exact same parts that failed. So when ppl cry about the 4th gen GRILL..... it wasn't the GRILL it was the history of the transmission issues that scared ppl off not the GRILL

I bought a 2001 CL back in September. When I bought it the fuel pump was dying so I had to replace it. It also had an emissions code that I don’t care enough to fix and it occasionally gets a multiple misfire code. After around 1,500 miles of ownership, the transmission began slipping and eventually 3rd gear just stopped engaging when the transmission was warm. I opted to replace the transmission with one from an 06 Accord doing most of the work myself. Only 500 miles with the ‘new’ transmission and it looks like 2nd gear is slipping. The car just runs and drives like shit and it’s becoming a money pit. In addition to all this, the engine burns oil and the car is basically a smoke machine for anyone behind it. I don’t think it’s very reasonable to swap the engine and rebuild the transmission so I will probably get rid of it. It breaks my heart but the car is a piece of shit. If anyone wants to convince me to keep it, feel free. Otherwise, what should I get? I was considering an 07/08 Acura TL or an 08 Accord because they have the newer 5-speeds.
@SteffanJohal9 ай бұрын
Both of those are great options. I am surprised by that accord transmission not working, I have a 01 cl with an accord trans and it has over 400k km on it, no issues since the trans was replaced. I think it's possible you just got very unlucky unfortunately.
