Your testimony was very interesting! When I was younger, I just couldn't conceive that someone could believe in God and not be obsessed with accomplishing every darn crazy commandment written in the Bible. I was so terrified with the idea of Hell that it was beyond me how someone could acknowledge God and just live with their life normally, like you did. Be aware now that just don't mind this whole Bible stuff at all is a legitimate way of seeing religion is new to me. It doesn't mean people who do that are perverse. They just don't care enough (or so they weren't mindwashed so widely to be paranoid about it). Thanks for the new perspective over this matter! Sucess

It sounds like you didnt actually read the Bible. People just taught you what they thought about the word of God.. I believe in God because of everything I see in the world .. things couldn’t have created themselves .. can I ask what do you believe about the origins of our universe ?

I have read the bible. When I was younger, it turned me off completely to religion based on the absurdity of a lot of the stories. When I leaned into Christianity, that was still something I just couldn’t wrap my head around and struggled to just accept the bible as factual or actual historic events. As far as my belief in the origins of the universe, I’m comfortable saying I don’t know. And the reality is that none of us know for certain. We believe what we believe, but nobody has undeniable proof. It actually brings me peace to believe that this existence is just a bunch of random events that occur that we have the freedom to assign meaning to.

@@MrDubblup Yes. My family is very religious. In fact, my grandparents lived right next door to our church. My uncle's brother was a catholic bishop. I eventually discovered an "alternative" religion around the age of 19, but left that after 20 years. That was over a decade back. Basically, I came to realize, as a whole, people are followers. People will follow religions, celebrities (Actors, musicians, politicians, athletes) and now, with social media, follow ordinary people. Also, people will believe almost anything, even if evidence shows those things aren't true. And I'm not just talking about a God, or Gods. People don't want the "truth", they want their own personal truths. Anyhow, I actually enjoyed your video, It's important for people to be open minded and maintain objectivity.

My wife and I had a similar story. We've finally ditched the whole label of Christian. It does feel good and free, but we do live in a world that on the whole, is religion based, so at times, you will feel up against those that are closest to you. On a personal note, I've found a lot of answers in pantheism, just check it out, using a variety of sources. I'm only saying it resonates with me, if not you, fine, life is a beautiful journey, may yours be beautiful. Peace to you.

My thing is not worrying about weather it's true or not my focus is the damage Christianity and religion as a whole is destroying this planet 😢we are going to be good or bad regardless of weather we believe in gods but i think the reason we get tangled in religions deadly spider webs is because we are all anxious to know what happens in the after life so we listen to stories that men tell each other and were so desperate for answers that we start to believe 🕷️🕸️ and that's when all the control mechanisms come into play. Hook line and sinker. Raise your hand if you know a child getting kicked out of there house for being gay Raise your hand if you know a wife that stays in an abusive relationship because that's what the church told her Raise your hand if you've told your children there going to burn in hell if they don't believe in your specific version of the 4000 plus gods or Jesus Christs out there that cant agree on one denomination Raise your hand if your parents or anyone for that matter have told you to live by faith or that you're gonna burn for having regular sexual human desires. Statistically speaking if you're reading this your arm is probably tired and i don't just mean from that last example 😂but seriously though there is no shortage of religious damage out there and i won't even get into politics but it only gets worst if you fancy yourself a good person and you just except this nonsense without questioning you are ripe for abuse or your perfectly aware and your ready to abuse 😢

The earth has been around quite a bit longer, and if there is a truth, it's in the earth, and stars, and universe. A book written by man can contain known facts and figures, and occasional bits of wisdom. Truth though, has never been written. Nay, I would argue, it has never been spoken. I appreciate your testimony, it was very insightful, I'm a christian and I resonate with some things that you said especially about things in your life becoming worse you became a christian, its quite common it happened to me aswell, Jesus actually said this will happen to some new believers because the devil knows you're not mature yet so he will try get you at early stages of your faith to get you to leave the faith, read the the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 (I know you said you dont believe in the bible but it will only take about 5mins to read, whats the worst that can happen lol). Also you mentioned about the stress of the serving God and following his rules, I'm not surprised, the bible says its impossible to serve God without having the holy spirit. You said that you're now kind of agnostic so I will just say this, God is an actual person so you need to view him that way and speak to him as a person, if you are struggling to believe in the things written in the bible then just say that to him, it doesn't need to be some long drawn out prayer, he created you and knows what it will take for you to believe in him, he will hear you if you are sincere, he really will. One last thing if you haven't stopped reading by now lol, you said you're now living the most peaceful life you've ever lived since leaving 'Christianity', Jesus said this in Mark 8:36-38 'For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?'

I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and give a thoughtful response. In the year since I’ve made this video I really see a lot of what you mention as make believe. I don’t personally believe god is a person. If god exists, that is such a limited existence. Prayer to me is just talking to myself at this point and I don’t believe in souls or even an afterlife. I have found a great deal of peace in this and I am totally fine not knowing or even acknowledging anything religious or pertaining to the existence of a god.

Thank you. The calm in your voice accompanies the strenght of your message. Christianity gives me a lot of anxiety and isolates me from my true feelings. Especially since my mother uses the religion to deny her insecurities and anxiousness. It's quite debilitating and it took me a long time to break free from the psychic mindgames. I was basically bullied in and out of Christianity. I'm glad I'm out. I'm still defensive and at times hostile towards Christians. @@MrDubblup The story is longer than this, but in summary, in my old church, there were some issues with the lead pastor. People tried to talk to him about what they thought was wrong, but he just gave sermons about obedience for years, implying we couldn't have opinions or suggestions and just needed to obey the leaders of the church because God speaks through them. I used to preach what he told me to preach, and sometimes I had to warn people about bad things happening to them if they didn't obey 'God's chosen.' At first, I didn't see a problem, but then it started to feel like manipulation. After years, I began to notice how controlling it was and started researching how church leaders use these tactics to get people to do whatever they want, and I saw it happening with my own eyes. This made me question everything. It took me three years of praying, talking to other pastors, and doing research. I even confronted the pastor, but nothing worked, so I decided to leave the 'church life' for good. It hurt to part ways because the church life was actually my life, and I even considered becoming a pastor. I left the church, and I've never regretted it, not even one day. That was seven years ago.
