Love thy neighbor ❤ Its a anti crime song . Anyone calling it racist is assuming its only black and brown folk committing crimes. Which makes them the real racist. Hes calling out Antifa and radical blm rioters. Imagine how amazing our world would be if we all looked out for our communities ❤ edited to say we have good ole boys of all races here , good ole boys just means you were raised to love God , family, community and country ❤

@@IamAlexisDiane Good ole boys are typically, southern country guys, most of us would give you the shirt off our backs if you needed it. Now the good ole boys club, is typically a reference to how law enforcement operates, something completely different.

Didn't know anything about this song until the media advertised it lol. I watched it and did not see a damn thing wrong with this song. It is the truth. There is nothing racist about it. Race is not mentioned in the lyrics. Just true video of what went on during the summer of love. Small town people will not tolerate criminal activity. Hope the cops find you first if they are dumb enough to try it.😅

A 'good 'ol boy' is somebody you can rely on, here in Oklahoma (and also in Arkansas, Kentucky and Texass plus Germany too, all the places I have lived/worked/was stationed) it is a high sign of phrase, it doesn't have an ethnicity. One of my best friends in the Army was truly a 'good ol boy' until the day he died, he was black and from Virginia. You had me liking your comments until you had to say "Some redneck shit"?

It's wild u compared this with a rap song. Like really really wild. Raps are all about committing crimes, shooting and murdering people. This song is the exact opposite of it. Owning guns and using them to defend ourselves and those we love is a constitutionally protected right. This song is patriotic. I don't understand how u would even talk about rap and this in one sentence. Protecting innocent people from robbery, rioting and murders isn't the same as rap songs that celebrate those exact same things.

I love the song & its message. Here's why people are getting themselves in an uproar. 1. The video was shot in front of a TN courthouse where a black man was lynched about 100 years ago. So yeah, the video probably could've been shot elsewhere. "Bad" choice of location at worst. 2. The tv stations mislead viewers by editing the song and portraying a context different from the way the song is actually written. "How"? When he sings got a gun that my grandad gave me." The next line is "They say one day they're gonna round up." But the tv clips jump right to the line "Try that in a small town". They leave out the reference to the 2nd Amendment controversy. So instead, you are led into believing the song is promoting violence and even lynching. 3. The last part of the video portrays a small community, all white. "Where are the shots of other ethnic communities?" they ask. The most likely explanation is that he's drawing upon experiences from the community he grew up in, which may have been predominantly white. Just like there are communities that are predominantly asian, or black, or hispanic or native american. The message, however, applies to all communities. 4. Lastly, the "dog whistles." They say he's implying minorities when talking about carjacking, etc. New flash to the critics... all races and ethnicities are capable of committing those crimes. None of them have a monopoly on crime. Name one race or ethnic group that hasn't. Why must the song be referring to minorities? If anything, their own implicit biases are being exposed. It's plain and simple, the message applies to all communities. I'll overlook the ability of critics to read the minds of what JD and the songwriter are really saying. I, however, do not have that ability to read minds. To the critics, "seek and you shall find" the racism and hatred you so desperately need to find.

This song reminds me of Hank Williams Jr's "A County Boy Can Survive". Self-Reliance and being able to rely on your community to have your back. Good ol' boys is a compliment. Historically Good ol' boys may have been white, now they come in all colors. I wish there were more of them.

He said it's no different than a rap song? No, in rap songs criminals are rapping about shooting other criminals. This man is talking about handling.people that "1 sucker punch someone on a sidewalk which has been done in paces like new yourk/Chicago ect... They call it the knockout game. #2 carjacking old lady at a redight. #3 robing a liquor store. #4 cuss out a cop and spit in his face. Yes some cops are asses just like in any other field of work, but you should always respect the law and order that the badge represents, and respect the person behind the badge. #5 he was talkin about handling people that light the flag on fire and show disrespect to all the people who have literally died so we can have this country. And he talked about people who were raised up right. Two-parent household, respect for God, respect for elders, respect for the law, respect for this country respect for your neighbor ect... Raised uo right. This is NOTHING WHATSOEVER like rap.
