Hello! Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question. Who is administering your FPGEE? I would contact them for individual point breakdowns for that exam. I'm sorry I don't know more!

Absolutely! I'm glad they have been helpful, and congratulate you on making it thusfar in your career within am care! It was so tough for me to study while in residency. Fortunately, I still passed with minimal study time during residency, so I would say hold onto hope that you will to! :)

Hi, love your videos and I wanted to ask for some advice. When do you tell your new employer that you have something scheduled when you are about to start a new job. My new job start date is June 12th and my mum is having a procedure and I will be taking care of her for those 3 weeks. This has been scheduled before I knew about this job, my scheduled dates are far off from the start date (7/28 until 8/20). I would be very grateful for your advice and thank you in advance!
@pharmresidents Жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm glad you like them! Thanks for the question. I would wait until you're through the first week of your job to let your boss know, unless your boss explicitly asks if you need any time off in the coming months. During your first week, I would also look at the time off policy for your job, and how far in advance you have to let your boss know about PTO or put in a request. To be honest, 3 weeks is a long time to ask any boss to not work at all. I would try and negotiate a part-time schedule and see if you can care for your mom for half a day, and work the other half, at least a few days each wee. I'm not sure what setting you're working in, but if it's a pharmacy with other technicians, interns, or pharmacists, you can negotiate with them as well to try and swap scheduled times so you can have time to take care of your mom. Hope this helps, please let me know if you have further questions!

@@pharmresidents Thank you so much, the job is remote but you have to be in VA to carry it out and my mother is overseas that's why
@pharmresidents Жыл бұрын
@@lamiselhassani221 Oh, so you can't work while caring for your mom. In that case, ask about the policy. If they ask why you want it, then disclose that you need 3 weeks off to care for your mom. Continue to express your interest in the job and that you will be back after. Try to negotiate with them and others schedules as I mentioned. It may mean working more hours when you get back.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I’m currently a pharmacy student in my second year, I was wondering how the order of APPE sites will impact my applications for residency. I am currently interested in TOC and ambulatory. My ambulatory rotation sites are assigned at the end of my third year after residency applications are due. I’m worried that I will not look as good of a candidate for residency because I will not have any ambulatory experiences to talk about in interviews. I’m also wondering if I wanted to be an ambulatory pharmacist, would it be one or two years of residency?
@pharmresidents Жыл бұрын
Glad they are helpful! It sounds like your school is a 3 year program if your APPE rotations end on year 3. If you can request changes to have at least 1 ambulatory care rotation before residency applications, I would request this. If not, just know that not everyone has these opportunities and RPDs are aware of student limitations on rotation selection. I would look for opportunities to shadow am care pharmacists, network with them, and reflect in your application why you are passionate about ambulatory care. Most ambulatory care pharmacy positions require two years of residency. This typically involves PGY1 training in a hospital or community residency, followed by a PGY2 residency in ambulatory care. In some areas, it is possible to complete a 1 year training focused in ambulatory care and obtain a position right after, but these are the minority of cases based on my experience/understanding.
@dancingleaf1634 Жыл бұрын
@@pharmresidents Thank you so much for the quick response and for answering my questions! I'll try to find opportunities to get in touch with ambulatory pharmacists to connect with them or volunteer! :)

Hi, This was super helpful. I’m attending mid year for the first time next month and just found out about PPS events. If I decide to sign up, how prepared should I be for these interviews? Are they more informal and really just an opportunity to ask questions about the program? If so, what questions should I ask that make me stand out as a candidate? Should I expect to be questioned by them as if it’s an actual interview? I’m definitely going to do some more research but I’d like to get your feedback if possible. (P.S. thank you for all your uploads, they have been incredibly helpful) ❤
@pharmresidents2 жыл бұрын
Hello, I’m glad my videos are helpful! I used this video preparing for PPS interviews, I’ll link it below. I would say they are certainly more formal than just a Q&A session, but not as formal as an actual interview. I would be prepared with at least 3-4 questions, and know the general structure of each job and/or program. What I think makes candidates stand out is preparation, enthusiasm, and being honest/genuine about their interests and what they’re looking for. Don’t be afraid to make small talk and not be “100% business” the entire time. Get to know them as people a little bit, it will help you and them make the best decision. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqrQpHd6r956jq8

Hello, I'm not sure how many additional exams you would have to take other than the NAPLEX and MPJE for the state(s) you practice in. I believe there is an exam which you take to ensure the pharmacy school you took out of the USA meets qualifications for USA pharmacy schools, it might be the foreign licensure exam, but I'm not sure. I would ask your pharmacy school if they have additional information for past students who have worked in the USA post graduation.

Glad you liked the video! The questions from RxPrep are more specific, and in general more difficult. But some NAPLEX questions came out of no where in my opinion. Still, I wouldn't choose anything else besides RxPrep to study (their book, videos, and quizzes/practice tests).
