To help with your question in regards to character arc type. There are many variations of the archetype. You might want to pick up a book and read it if you can find it called 45 Master characters. It's an excellent book and it goes into character archetypes but it uses the Greek gods and goddesses as basis is for them. Hero is actually an archetype as is your villain your mentor things like that. And to answer your question about a lifetime subscription. I'm pretty sure you can do it. Jason is really awesome to work with and handling stuff like this. The other thing I wanted to point out that you may not be aware of is that everything you put in campfire is backed up on a cloud server. So say you accidentally delete something or you have a cat walk across your keyboard and delete something for you, you can send a bug report to the crew at campfire and as long as you know what project it's in what the title is and you send them that information they can go look up your lost stuff and return it to your file. They've saved my bacon more times than I can count. I absolutely love it. There are still some things that I'm still learning. But like you can change the appearance of your project there are templates to do that People have made templates for things like characters and stuff like that to help track things there's even ones for plotting to help with that It's just a great tool and it's very versatile.

Thank you! It really is a great program. I still need time to learn all the modules ti see how I would use them but for now, it’s been great to fill it out for this project. The arc module still eludes me but I’ll need to watch a tutorial on how to set it up for these specific characters. It appears to work similarly to how we structured arcs for films back in the day but I’ll have to dig around more.

I have been using campfire since it came out. I was one of the beta testers for the mobile as well as for campfire blaze. And I would highly recommend it. There is more to campfire than just the app. They have writing articles, now you can publish your book so you can't fire, they have an awesome discord group. So there's a lot there and it's worth checking out.

Thx for Testing. I still write the draft for my books with my outdated Alphasmart Dana, which is a bit better then the Neo. (Backlight, eneloop Akku recharge via USB cable, Touchscreen, save to sd card but less standby time. I was curios about the Traveler. But it seems, the Traveler cant save local? To edit something should be easier, too. I really like the apearance of the Traveler, a pity that it seems a bit unfinished. My next try for a modern typewriter is the e-ink Android Tablet boox Palma with bluetooth keyboard. Greetings from Germany and happy writing!

Did you say that you started your own publishing company? How is it different from self-publishing? What are the benefits of doing it that way? Are there disadvantages you've noticed? I'd love to hear more about starting your own publishing company, especially from a fellow Canadian.
@ANSageWrites
@ANSageWrites 19 күн бұрын
For me it was because I didn’t want my non pen name attached to the ISBNs and in the publisher copyrights on different platforms. It also helped to have one company that I can run my other businesses under. And with multiple pen names, it helped everything be consistent. I would say that unless you have a lot of different revenues that fall under the same publishing umbrella or if you don’t want to use your real name anywhere, you likely don’t need to go this route.

That notebook is a working notebook. For me, It makes sense. The prettier it is, the more my need for it look pretty & perfect kicks in. I like seeing this style of notebook as it helps me realize it doesn't need to be perfect. it just needs to work for the person using it. Plus, I love the idea of the last book mentioned, "Bone to Bone." I can't wait to hear more about it!

With this template, where do you recommend adding subplot(s)? (Great video by the way!)
@ANSageWrites
@ANSageWrites Ай бұрын
I would probably give them more page time between beat 8 and 9. Somewhere in that general part of the book. I usually give hints to subplots earlier, especially if they are romantic subplots, but I don't devote big scenes to them until after the sleuth's reasons to investigate and we get more traction in the main mystery. I have a much more detailed plotting structure in my latest book as well which might help even more.

This is really helpful. Can I ask, if you’ve got one campaign, and one ad set with two ads using that ad set, do you need to double your campaign budget? If I was using £5 daily for one ad, do I need to double my budget because I’m using that budget over two ads? And can you run a couple of campaigns, for say different series without the ads competing?
@ANSageWrites
@ANSageWrites Ай бұрын
I would start with a smaller budget no matter the as set amount. Then duplicate those instead of changing the budget. In my experience, that works best for longer running ads. I don’t think you’ll run into ad cannibalism for a long time. Once that starts to happen, you’ll see a dip in and can turn the ads off and build new ones for the same series.

I’ve currently got the same Kindle PW and I’m very very tempted to go with the Kobo Libra Color due to its features (not just the color aspect). I’ve only got 81 Kindle ebooks so it shouldn’t be too hard to move over, however, I just don’t know what to do with KU as KU is a great option if I end up reading a lot, which I hope to eventually. Even reading one Ebook a month you get your $ worth with KU. So I’m really indecisive, not to mention at the moment I can’t justify owning 2 ereaders at the moment 😢 I just don’t do enough reading, hopefully I will one day and I’ll definitely be buying a Kobo in the future.

For the covers, I wish EC gave us an option to choose the font. Some covers have a more basic font. They seem to like picking which font will go with which cover and we are stuck with it. If they gave us an option to pick, I might actually use that feature, but mostly I don’t customize it.
