This is not enough calories! Dietitians question if 1600 calories is enough to properly nourish the body during weight loss, let alone 1200!! please eat more this isn't healthy, during weight loss the ideal amount of calories for anyone under 200 pounds is 1800 cal. if your still growing or are physically active then it should be 2000. You look very healthy right now and i suspect you do not need to lose weight, but if you feel as though you must a deficit of 1800-2000 calories with physical activity will always be healthier then 1200 calories which has been shown to destroy peoples metabolisms

omg 1200 is too low. If you're doing this, please note that this is only for short term and inappropriate for most adults. Once you stop eating just 1200 calories, you'll gain the weight easily. It's better to do something that's good for your long term lifestyle. These are what worked for me & my friends: lemon water before 1st meal, green tea daily, intermittent fasting, eating healthy (whole foods, veggies, fruits, etc), daily walks / activity (gym, run, biking, etc), limit junk food, sodas, alcohol. These are better than 1200 calorie deficit. I lost weight even without going to the gym for months, i mostly walk a lot or yoga for my daily activity. When i did calorie deficit, i didn't feel good after few weeks & counting made me stressed lol now i feel better, look better and live better. For reference I'm 160cm , 53kg. I just hope this helps! And i highly suggest doing activities as much as you can like something you enjoy so it won't feel like a work out

you were still in a deficit when you lost weight, you just weren’t counting calories. A deficit doesn’t have to be high, for example if you burn 2000 calories a day on average, you can go on a “diet” of 1700 calories and not feel hungry at all if you pick your food and daily hobbies right. Besides, post-diet weight gain only comes from reactive eating, especially if it’s a short term diet. Typically, when people restrict they get a lot hungrier which is why they gain the weight back. if you keep off cravings and eat your TDEE after a diet, your weight will stabilize, but I don’t recommend doing restrictive dieting.

You don't know her regular activity levels, calorie burn rate, or height. Saying this is unhealthy is uneducated.On top of that, the video clearly states this is for -weight loss-, not maintenance. Everyone's cut-calories are different. The only way to lose weight is being in a calorie deficit. The only way to keep the weight off is consuming the correct maintenance calories. If you're gaining "all" the weight back, the issue is most likely you reverting back to unhealthy habits you wanted to break in the first place. This is a good video for people wh also happen to have a ~1200kcal limit.

at 160/53 your BMR is only around 1250 calories. It is insane to me people here really think you will immediately waste away if you eat 1200 calories on a diet and make statements like "all women need to eat at least 2k calories per day".

depends on her maintenance. im 58kg and my maintenance is 1700, so 1200 is for an average weight loss of -0.5kg a week

You can’t decide what skinny or fat for her body. It is whatever she’s comfortable with . Maybe she follows this routine to maintain herself or something she is training for . Doesn’t matter if she’s this or that .
