those braket bolts are easy to access from under the swing arm using a long extension rod. No need to undo the shock on this model. Also, it is possible to maneuver the RR out and back in with both connectors attached, without removing the brake fluid reservoir

I have fried 4 alternators and 2 rectifiers on my 2012 street triple by now (one alternator burned just like yours on day 1 after install, I should have listened to my mechanic and changed rectifier at the same time). I am installing a new rectifier and a new alternator, keeping all fingers crossed. These bikes make alternators a consumable part; tyres last longer...

hi, I've just a question: as far I understood from service manual it should be used a silicon fluid in addition to triumph gasket but in your video it seems not applied. right? just in case why did you adopted this approach?

Hi there...when I took my old one off, there was no evidence of any silicone, so I just didn't use it....

Hello, can i ask why you replaced the cover ?
@gypseyswhippet72762 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think the cover already had damage from a previous owner, and had been repaired. When I tapped the cover with my mallet to release it, it dislodged the repair. I noticed a slight weep of oil and then spotted a crack

Hello, is the fh020aa plug and play? I read that sometimes you need a 30a fuse, just want to double check before I make the purchase

Thanks for the vid... I'm having a hell of a time trying to get that 2nd bolt off the backing plate... Extension rod or ring spanner doesn't get enough purchase on the bolt head... Just wondering, can you just take off the reg with heatsink, without removing the backing plate instead?

replaced both stator and rectifier regulator and now the battery chargeing works.
@gypseyswhippet72762 жыл бұрын
I did a bit more investigating and put it down to my heated grips being at fault, so I took them off and it's been fine since. Regular voltage checks showed all fine

I found it easier to take the rectifier off by using an 8mm socket and a long extension and going from underneath,

Got a new stator from RMStator too and received a plain box with "Made in China" stamp. I guess they just sell cheap Chinese stators now you can easily find on Ebay. Hope your bike works great.

Thank you for taking the time to make the videos on this and the stator. Mine just went on me as well. 2012 Striple R. I don’t want to buy the R/R but I don’t want to fry the new stator I just bought either. So it looks like I’ll be getting this as well.

Thanks for the video, I appreciate it! . My charging system on my 13 Speedie, running and revving, is only charging at like 13.9, so I'm thinkin new Stator?...or maybe Reg/Rect?. Did you find out what was burning yours out?

@@gypseyswhippet7276 I’ve just picked up a 2010 ST, having issues with hot starting so suspect the stator is shot - the bike also has Oxford heated grips... how did you figure the grips were causing your stator to burn out? My heated grips are coming off regardless, wondering whether I should replace the reg-rec at the same time as the stator?

@@gypseyswhippet7276 I think that may have been coincidence.I own a 2008 Street Triple and a 2005 Speed Triple 1050.I spend half my time replacing stators.I did some research and discovered that if you have a shunt type RR ,which includes the Mosfet type,the stator runs at full capacity 100% of the time.Any excess current is 'shunted' to ground.Strangely enough I nearly always have my heated grips on full on the Speedy because the stators seem to last longer.Except for the last 8 weeks when I never turned them on and the stator failed at 900 miles!In my experience the new stators for sale on Ebay are absolutely rubbish.They generally cost about £120.I bought my last 3 from Electrex World in the UK.The one on my Street is now on 8000 miles,but the last 2 on my Speedy have lasted for 11 months and 2 months respectively.I just fitted a used OEM unit which looks in really good condition.Both my bikes have Gammatronix battery charge warning lights fitted.As long as that little green light is on I can relax.Recently it turned red so I was riding on the battery.But it got me home,some 80 miles.Battery was reading 11.2 volts!Motobatt battery...brilliant.

Unfortunately Hondas burn out reg/recs just as often. VFRs probably the worst. The stators seem more durable.

I've look at alot reviews on rmstator and I've read happen to multiple people that the new rmstators shorts out due to thickness on the triumph triple speed and the didnt compinsated by bolt length , pretty sure that's why yours shorted out when It was new , I read the people went with ricks motorsports stator after because they compensated bolt length with thickness.
