These units are now nearly 50 years old and still working every day on a Class 1. EMD's dash 2 line will doubtless be remembered as the most enduring and longest-lived class of locomotives ever.

T&D RAILROAD HAD 2-6-6-2 STEAM LOCOMOTIVES #2600 - #2699 . SEVERAL OF THEM WAS SAVED AND A FEW ARE STILL OPERATIONAL . #2613 #2639 #2662 #2667 ARE 4 OF THE ONES THAT ARE OPERATIONAL .

One of the best sounding ones in the fleet! Excellent video and I love this camera angle! 129 is indeed my second favorite K5LA aside with 46 I love the way 63 sounds as well these 3 numbers all have a very similar the to each other. They had the 129 on my route for a good 2 months I made sure I caught it each and every time it was leading, I will also be posting a Before and After video of this loco as she didn’t always sound this good the video will show the major improvement with the newer but older K5LA it received.

I remember when those units were first painted. 3820 has the best horn imo. Hard to believe all they used to use is switchers for the most part but now with the G&O the old “Blue” will slowly fade away sadly.

Good thing 4001 was rebuilt after the wreck, NS 1036 was also involved in the derailment and it too was repaired.

What kind of music is in your intro, is it upbeat or rap?

Too bad 54 was involved in the fire with 161 cause it’s horn is as good as this, but 129 is a very very close second for me. Easily one of my favorite horns on Amtrak rn

Did you know that 2816 had ditch lights on it?
@GTRailFanProductions22 күн бұрын
Yes, it is required by Canada in order for it to operate. But when it crossed into the USA for this Multi-Country Tour, the FRA doesn't require ditchlights on steam locomotives, hence why they removed them.

Maybe you should do a podcast on the restorations of New York Central 3001 and Chesapeake & Ohio 614 steam locomotives.

See those strobes on the locomotive? It’s remote controlled for switching, which means the engineer can be on the ground when switching.

pretty much the WNYP's m636 fleet had three owners in there lives prior to the railroad retiring them. First starting off brand new for CN, then some units sold to the Quebec Cartier in the mid 70's (majority of Cartier's m636 fleet were ex. CN units), then retired and sold to the WNYP. And as of now, are starting to go there separate ways to other shortline railroads, for a fourth chance.

I heard that wheelslip is bad, it can damage the tracks and the wheels on the locomotive.

Man great distance recording! Some of the older K5LA’s are still holding strong, some have been replaced with newer ones and some have had their newer ones replaced with refurbished older ones! 129 is one of those! It had a Raised letter back in the 2010’s and had a 90’s one put on it not to long ago. 184 is another example. Sweet catch!

I’m going to comment again as a sort of follow-up to my last one now that the SD 38-2’s are off property do you think you’re going to film the wide cab? I personally lost interest when 862 left so I don’t know what to do now.
@GTRailFanProductions3 ай бұрын
862 is still on the property. I literally filmed it yesterday. I've already filmed the Widecab 40's enough when they were here in 2019. I won't go out of my way for the one that just came back. I probably will see it at some point but I don't know when.
