Thank you! I used to use Shipito (for almost two decades) but they got pretty costly so I switched to Planet Express (linked here: planetexpress.com/?ref=324270) which I've found is not only MUCH faster, but also less expensive. Once items have arrived at the mailbox it's usually 1 week for them to arrive in Sydney after I've paid the postage costs (their dashboard is a little clunky though).

I love the style and pricing of Quince, but the quality isn’t always there. My leather jacket began to have its dye rub off after a year or so, and it’s now gray in some areas as a result. My loungewear set, however, has held up well despite the constant wear!
@mademoisellejaime46 минут бұрын
Which one did you get? I've noticed that there's a definitely discrepancy in the leather they use so would be good to know for others who come across this video :D As an example, I have a shoulder bag and the leather is fine, but it's nowhere near the high quality of the bag I showed in this video (which truly rivals some of my bags that are $500+). Highlights how brands can have some exceptional products, and some that are just okay - I've found this to be a consistent theme across every brand I've tried at this point (one of the reasons why I think sharing reviews or what's good/what's not is so helpful - also good to get other perspectives/experiences as well as it adds to our shared knowledge 🥰)

One more comment on Quince. Ladies, definitely look at the men’s items. My husband bought the Comfort Stretch Chore Jacket in large. (It’s now sold out in all colors but blue.) It didn’t fit him (size large) and he asked me to return it. Well, I tried it on and it went right into my closet. It doesn’t look great on the website, an ongoing issue with Quince styling, but it looks great in person, slightly oversized.
@mademoisellejaime44 минут бұрын
I love that your first instinct was to just try it on - fabulous! I think I know the jacket you mean. And I absolutely agree, they really need to upgrade their styling as their studio shots never do the items justice 🫣

I own a lot of Quince cashmere and only recently purchased the boatneck sweater in Moss. It has become one of my favorites. It just feels so stylish and modern. And the color is better in person than on the website. It does run large; not a problem for me; I’m 5’8”+ and have broad shoulders. Someone smaller, especially with narrow shoulders, might want to size down.

Great video! I will say that I have had the Quince super soft sweatshirt and sweatpants for over a year and they are just as soft inside and out as when they were new. The fleece inside did not change texture even with repeated washing. Little to no fading as well.

@mademoisellejaime6 сағат бұрын
Our washing machine has a wool cycle so I’ll always use that to launder any knitwear (merino, cashmere, silk, cotton etc), then I’m careful to make sure I reshape the garment before leaving it to dry. I do also have a video on clothing care on my channel and besides having a new washing machine now (the old one broke!), my method is still the same if I wash by hand x

Yes every fall they’re like xyz are on trend…and they’re literally just items that anyone wears for the seasonal transition into cooler weather. Also the trending colors are never surprising it’s just literal autumnal colors. Oh wow brown suede and burgundy are hot right now, no kidding? 😂 I understand they have to market something to make money but it always sounds so ridiculous.

I had never heard of polyamide until I saw their website. Why isn’t it okay but polyester is? I am trying to wear more natural fibers this year. That green bomber you said was polyester
@mademoisellejaime3 күн бұрын
Polyamide is another synthetic, just like polyester, and I have a rule that I like to avoid synthetics in my knitwear (ie. I wouldn't buy a poly blend sweater either for that reason). So yes the bomber is polyester/nylon; it's an outerwear piece and bombers in general typically are made of some sort of nylon. The way fabrics are manufactured are different, and some synthetics are higher quality than others - also, I have a bit more tolerance when it's an outerwear piece (though I see little need to blend it with wool - I'd prefer a 100% wool coat over a synthetic blend). So, it's not that the polyester is okay, but it was my expectation that it was going to be synthetic and in small amounts/limited items, that's okay. I will also accept it in trousers too though these will always be items I am limited to wearing only during the winter time. Sometimes you have to put durability and practicality ahead of other requirements (I have two young children so that's a factor) - the Sezane synthetic blend knitwear I don't find durable as it doesn't wash well, comes out feeling plasticky even after hand washing. Does that help explain it? Let me know if you have any other Qs!
@DeathByFashion13 күн бұрын
@@mademoisellejaime thank you! Yes, makes sense. As I have been trying to switch to more natural fibers, I am finding out that alot of the clothing available is mixed with synthetic materials. Like you said pants. I’m sure blends help hold their shape and not look like pajama pants. I guess we gotta pick and choose so we’re not looking like a bunch 1800s farmers in head to toe linen, wool and cotton 😆 maybe I really gotta give sewing a go

Thank you so much! I think, my favourite too. This is much more reflective of the way that people typically piece together their closet as well. Being 5’4”, maxi length skirts or dresses are too long. MIDI equals maxi for me. Same problem with pants. I’ll be in Australia next March. Will have to see if I can shop for shoes and try on the brand you showed.
@mademoisellejaime3 күн бұрын
I think it's more the item that is sold as a midi might be maxi on you without some sort of modification - midi length is that mid shin length (items are usually cut based on a fit model so not one size fits all - I suspect you must have to do a fair bit of tailoring!). Where in Australia are you travelling? Happy to provide some suggestions for places to shop/check out if you are visiting Sydney :)

What's your opinion on wearing pants with tennis shoes? When I try to wear full length, the length of the pants rests on top of the tennis shoe and almost looks little-kiddish, whereas with an ankle jean, the ankle bone is exposed and seems more flattering.
@mademoisellejaime3 күн бұрын
Sometimes it really comes down to personal preference. A tennis shoe I think looks great with a straight/wide leg pant that is a bit cropped - at least that's what my eye is drawn to (experimentation is key as so much of style comes down to taste)
