Good vid. The comerical paddles I've read are harder durometer bounce around alot. I dont have the comerical but compared to Honda 621 mine bounces more and louder. But Honda different auger design. Toro comerical can have stronger handle bar. Tubing has different wall thickness same on the outside but thicker on the inside

I've used the 721 for years and found it a gem. Only prob is how quick the paddles and scraper bar wear out. Regardless if thicker commercial or thinner regular paddles. If you can ebay/amazon new paddles and scraper, it's a great keeper. (Please note the paddles and scaper bar must be replaced as a set, you have to do both at the same time because they wear evenly as a set. Otherwise ground contact is off, doesn't work right.)

Great review! I agree 100% with everything you said! Absolutely sucks for light snow 6” or less! Only good for heavy wet snow! Also if it’s wet the chute is to close to the bucket to shoot snow straight, u have to adjust either left or right. Mine is new and I’m already wanting to sell it. I live in Utah in the mountains so we average 12” or more when it snows. My neighbors both have old school 2 stage blowers and they throw way further and do a much cleaner job.

I wonder if they lube up the axles on this thing or if it's the same bone dry metal as on the lower end models. Just lubed up my new deluxe 28 because I just don't want to deal with all of that in the spring. I went with both anti-seize and normal grease as you can see in some of the videos on youtube about this subject.

As a guy who used to sell ariens and honda. The one thing I do gotta say about ariens is alot of thee engine wiring components come from China. So the quality isn't exactly 100 percent. As the Chinese do use forced labor camps to make these parts. If I were your salesman I would have said ariens yes Is great, but longevity, less maintenance, and parts made not from forced labor camps with honda would have saved you maintenance costs later down the line. All in all arieans is a good brand. I just don't like the companies lack of care for quality over profits.

@drumhead142 ай бұрын
@jamesledzepplin7839 which mode do u end up using the most? Also u got a big drive?
@jamesledzepplin7839Ай бұрын
@drumhead14 I use the middle setting almost exclusively. The lower scrape mode is pretty hard to use on uneven surfaces. Wheel mode is very maneuverable, but will not dig into packed snow, even just someone's footprints. That's why I would recommend the weight kit, especially if your moving around parked cars in wheel mode. My driveway is about 200ft long, and wide enough to park 4 cars side by side at the top. About a 2hr job with anything more than 10cm of snow. One of the good things about mine is it has no trouble moving lots of snow, and you can whip through light snow very quickly. Pretty powerful

I see that "excelerator" auger being more of a gimmick and a selling point than it's worth. Since the beginning of snowblowers, the horizontal auger system has worked just fine and the only difference is the speed of the impeller of the size of the impeller/housing which will blow more snow faster. If that so called third stage was such a good improvement, you start to see it on other machines.

Hey did you buy anything? I love my honda hss 928 tracked machine but that's probably not the right machine for you. It works perfect for my rough gravel driveway, paths and yard. I recommend the 928 wheeled machine. The hydrostatic transmission is fantastic but the tracked models have a very slow top speed. Hydrostatic will lock up when off (like park in an automatic transmission) and makes loading up and down ramps much safer.
