Nice video! Do you think it's possible to convert the transflective screen of a Nintendo DS "phat" into a transmissive one by exchanging those internal layers with those of a Nintendo DS Lite?

I've got a GBA SP board with the same issue and the VR1 (a 50k ohms trimpot as the data sheet shows) is stuck in 30k ohms. I will try to change it and see if solve the problem. Your vídeo helped a lot. Thanks.

How come it isn’t possible to just carefully clean the individual layers that are dirty/ water damaged, with an ultra fine microfiber cloth ? It looks like they might clean up, as they look like they are primarily made from plastic ???

Some irons need more on the setting to get the heat all the way to the tip so most likely the tip was around 250 for it to be working. although I see your point not telling people to put it on that level on there iron cause it could go way higher then 250 and burn it in a couple seconds. My iron actually has to be set to 410 before the tip will get to 255-260

Hello, I want to do this, and thank you so much for the video. I bought some DMG backlight kits and I am waiting for them in the mail. There is one thing though, this video skips the part where you solder the red and black wires of the DMG kit. I do not know where the rest of the wires are supposed to go. The speaker is very straight forward from the video. But at 4:03 I can see a red and black wire from the back of the motherboard and behind that another red wire as well. So it would be amazing if you could help me out with this. I think this is basically the coolest thing ever
@RescueKatz2 ай бұрын
Basically it looks like there is two red wires here, one brighter then the other if I am not mistaken. Also, I see the tip of the black wire soldered at 4:03, so the black wire from the backlight kit is supposed to be soldered there? And then I guess if that is true I am not sure about the red one. Anyways yeah look forward to hearing from you

this was so helpful. I was only getting a couple pixels on the screen and tightening the back screws made it work again. I cleaned all the parts, but the left button is still no working. any ideas?
