When you think about it Bilbo had, at one time, both the Arkenstone and The Ring of Power in his possession...thats some serious power (both magical and political) he had in his pockets and yet he sat there, admiring his acorn 🥲.

I'm happy that through himmel, frieren started seeing good and evil this way. Ironically, frieren is more like gandalf, himmel, and flamel now compared to galadriel, AND it's galadriel that asks gandalf about the halflings purpose.

Yes! Never not gonna love this scene, firmly cemented Bilbo as someone who wasn't in it specifically for the reward in the minds of the dwarves.

this guy has the greatest lines in cinema, they come from a real place of pain and suffering, but sees the light in everything. while i don't enjoy these movies the way I enjoy the original trilogy, this line slaps hard, and is one of the lines that helps me get through my depression.

I'm really really happy to see Legolas again after 10 years after LoTR and the way Gandalf happy to see Legolas.. 😊😊 Thank You Peter Jackson for made this legendary trilogy movies all over again for the backstory of LoTR 🤎

I've just thought - is this acorn meant to become the Party Tree that Bilbo gives his famous speech under and which gets cut down in LOTR only to be replaced by Sam's gift from Galadriel?

The Hobbit movies may not have been as good as Lord of the Rings, but it's almost impossible to come close to the near-perfection that is Lord of the Rings. I still absolutely loved these movies, and they certainly had their moments like this!

The way that the clarinet sinks into the echoes of Erebor is quite possibly the best single instance of musical writing that I have witnessed across all of the series. NOTHING has compared to the exposed, open, and impressively realistic presentation of that simple Hobbit’s theme in the halls of Erebor that makes you remember exactly who is speaking and where you are without even needing to think about it. Shore knew what he was doing, without a doubt

One of the most inspiring quotes out of all the movies for me. Helps me get out of my Messiah complex and focus on the little things, knowing that those contribute to the highest good, far beyond all my grandiose aspirations.
@thevaccinator6664 ай бұрын
True, but I wouldn't get rid of those grandiose aspirations. If carried out, they will do a great deal of good. ❤❤❤

If only the second and third movies had lived up to the first. The whole trilogy peaked with this moment. Unfortunately Peter Jackson’s own pride had gotten to him at this point and he stuffed the rest of the movies with irrelevant nonsense. To the point where even though they gave Bilbo a Hero Moment here, he was almost irrelevant the rest of the way through. Especially in the last movie. Criminal waste of Martin Freeman’s acting ability.

But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs. A quote from Middlemarch, George Elliot, the small things as Gandalf would say.

rewatching the trilogy. there is something so special about thorin and bilbo. more than friendship, more platonic than love. or, at least, that's how i like to think about it. richard and martin interpretations are magical
