Weird pronunciation of "lead" and "imperator" makes this sound like a generated voice.

Paul doesn't have the ability to see further into the future than other spice users His son has the ability to reach back into the past to communicate with him. At one point he is given a chance to save his Mother by fighting a duel with a man. His son shows him that if he walks away from the duel the man will become an important ally...Paul rejects that future and saves his Mother , but must kill the man. His mother lives and goes on to give birth to a daughter who's existence almost everybody comes to regret including her own Mother because she is basically taken over by the memories of her Ancestors that she carries...Her Grandfather Barron Harkonnen is in charge of her body. Now you know why Paul's son was willing to let his Grandmother die before giving birth to his Aunt. So his son shows Paul what choices must be made, but he has to be careful to present Paul with choices where neither outcome erases him from the future. Whenever his son in the future fails , he sends back instructions on what to do to prevent it from happening and then the new version of son takes over after Paul fixes the future.

I'm gonna go with as powerful as the author thinks the storyline needs to be. (See: Star Wars, Avengers, LOTR, fiction genre, etc.)

"The Roman expire, for example, valued intellect, strength, and civic duty, creating a society where individuals could rise through merit and service". What a load of BS. Clearly you need to do some research. Names like Spartacus and slave rebellions don't rise when you have merit based society.

Movie Verse Paul is. Very powerful human Patriarch of Powerful Merchant Noble Family. + Commander Holy-Messiah of A Planet Sized Army of Elite Combat Experienced Jihadiis. + Mom is a high ranked member of mind controlling religious spy order. + Unborn little fetus sister is psychic/Professor-X Type on his side. So the movie Verse Paul is very powerful. But nothing compared to Pauls son Worm Emperor Leto II.

The fact that the movie did not explain the Bene Gesserit training of the weirding ways of battle Paul doesn't really show his physical power in conjunction with his mental power. Also his Mentat training is what make him a tactician of enormous power.

Just did some quick research and found out it was his son Leto II. The timeline is wild

Read the books. The God emperor is Paul's 2nd son, who is also named Leto II.

Paul's tragic end is going blind and becoming a hermit. His son Leto II is the worm guy.

Very intersting and profound analysis. Thanks for the parallels between Germans Nazi and Harkonnens, that's bingo. By the way Finland supported nazi in WW2 and fought in SS troops and Luftwaffe. The book itself is much deeper than the movie that shows only the top of the mountain.

I like to imagine that the movie's version of the Harkonnens where made more "cartoonishly" evil so that we the audience could see Paul wage a literal religious jihad and still sympathize with the main character. In the book they where more "capitalist opportunists who sought out money and power through immoral means" rather than the murderous sadistic despots we got in the movie. Don't get me wrong, though, the visuals for the Harkonnens and the people of Giedi Prime where top notch.

AI written, AI voiced. Here's the slop "content" poured like waste from a medieval bedpan into the new algorithm. This is terrible, and your cringe responses to people calling you out are weak.

Because otherwise it wouldn't be American movies? It's set in stone they absolutely need to have cartoonish, batshit crazy antagonists serving as punch-bags for almost equally cartoonish "good guys".

The alien would have difficulty against 1 terminator, but it could go either way. However, in an all out war, multiple terminators would have a huge advantage. I think that those 2 make the more interesting match up. The 3 way is a bit of ok just another crazy terminator sequel.

the movie is crap in showcasing the caracters its scratched only the surface and its often totaly different in what the book offer and fallow a more black & white Disney logic .. 2 movie parts are not enough to showcase the books intension and world paradigma and leave near no space what the great written character of Herbert s world offer.. And the complete great worldstory have interesting twist in it that was even not intented at first but haved worked so well in a longer deleveloped story.. the Movie for me worked as you would like looking only 6 episode of Game of Throne taken out of all seasons.. Visual great but absolute boring picture to picture MTv music video style... But thats often happens when great book s ended in to short films..

Hi, I'm Finnish and I don't like how we are portrayed by the Harkonnens. There is an effort being made in Hollywood right now to portray caucasian and especailly Nordic type people as cruel, heartless, incestuous and all this other bad stuff and it's just not true, we are some of the only people who have sympathy for others. Our generosity and helpfulness is notorious. There is NO WAY Finnish people would have ended up being like House Harkonnen in real life, it's just not in our nature.

Also "Vladimir" is a Russian name not a Finnish name.

There has also been an effort to make us look like Albinos with pink eyes and strange face shapes, and that's just not true, we are part Asian other than that look extremely normal not like an Albino at all.
@XtineJohnes6 күн бұрын
Dmitri is also a Russian name not Finnish. I'm getting the feeling that the author only superficially studied the difference between Finns and Russians. It is vast.
