Do you think the movie will suck balls or be a worthy addition to the Alien franchise, vote below:

This is gonna be yet another Disney debacle. Disney has already announced that they are going retcon the story and I can ONLY conclude that the facehuggers will now ask for consent using american sign language before deciding whether or not to face-r*pe, since that IS its only way to propegate their species. If that wasn't clear .... Suck balls for Disney flavored DEI juice boxes is my vote.

The only thing I don't like is how the cast is all 20 somethings. The first movie had a great mix of ages that you would expect to see on an oil rig. This cast looks like an episode of euphoria.

Rumour is they are a breakaway colony group, you wouldn't send a bunch of people in retirement age to start a new colony, you would want people who are young enough so they have years to live longer where they are headed. They are a special group chosen to break off from a formed colony to go form another colony. Then they stumble upon an abandoned space-station..............................................ROMULUS

Indeed.... how do you have the Xenomorph more Ferocious? From ALIEN R, and in ALIEN C and the AVP Movies the Xenomorph was Ferocious.... you can't say they were not in Alien, Aliens or Alien 3 either. So yeah that is a bit of a odd thing for Alvarez etc to say... by Ferocious i think that he will just give us more up close Detailed Gore vs the other Movies.

Romulus is not connected to Isolation in any way and it's already confirmed there is no Amanda Ripley. Yes, Alien Isolation is still considered canon, and this new movie was clearly inspired by it, but that's all it was and nothing more.

@RoaryUK3 ай бұрын
Big Chap is discovered almost by accident at the start of Romulus, probably through a flashback. The Company at this time are still trying to find out what happened to the Nostromo, when they come across his dead body. The creature is taken to space station Romulus, where scientists manage to extract and reverse engineer his DNA, from which they create a new breed of the alien. A clue to this is on the trailer, where you can clearly see the Face Huggers are much darker than in any other movie.

So what you have said, whether you meant to or not, is that this "Alien" movie will be a DEI lead bait and switch filled with sloten ideas and a complete lack of character development in favor of identity. Where they have "appropriated" stories told by the comics over 20 years ago, and I am SURE none of those writers will be paid or credited by Disney. Disney CAN NOT make a good horror movie, look at Hellraiser 2022. I mean c'mon horror and Disney are two words that can't breed nearly as efficiently as the REAL xenomorphs.

But also ruins the Alien’s origins that nobody asked. Being created by David. Forget about the black goo and engineers. It’s DAVID, DAVID, DAVID 🥱😴
@Showdonttell-hq1dk3 ай бұрын
That's exactly the point, the makers have completely destroyed the cool thing about the aliens. That was one of the worst writers' decisions in the history of great franchises. I grew up with Alien and Aliens and have read and seen the books and films a dozen times and still can't believe it! I read a while back that this was Ridley Scott's ideas from the beginning. After that I lost faith that there was anything great to come in the future.
@frenchcoupon33913 ай бұрын
@@Showdonttell-hq1dk I really love Ridley Scott. A genius director. But in Covenant (save some heart pounding scenes) he dropped the ball… Especially with the Alien’s origins. A colossal failure.
@RoaryUK3 ай бұрын
@@Showdonttell-hq1dk If you're going to blame anyone for what happened to the prequels, how about pointing the finger at the REAL problem, the so-called fans (or in this case idiots) who didn't understand what Scott was trying to do with Prometheus, but rather than wait and see what happens, they demanded to see more aliens. Fox eventually got cold feet and decided to course correct the next movie, which is how we got Covenant, a movie that had to have something like the alien plus an explanation as to how we get it. From what little is known about it the movie Scott wanted to make, Paradise Lost, would have followed David and Shaw to the Engineers home world, where they discover their creators and a creature meant to be the precursor to the Xeno we all know of. They learn that the Engineers were trying to replicate what their creators had done, but that too had gone wrong. Stalked by the alien they are eventually rescued from the planet, rumoured to be the Company itself. The story continues to follow David, Shaw and these other people, rumoured to be W/Y Soldiers, but what they don't know is the alien somehow gets on board the rescue ship. Similar to the rushed ending of Covenant, all hell breaks loose and only the alien and David survive, the difference is the new creature is also an egg layer, which is how it ended.

@@RoaryUK I write science fiction books myself, so I know that every creative decision can lead to the success or failure of a book. As an author, you're under constant pressure during the writing process that your next decision might destroy the whole story without you even realising it. Juggling this risk and ultimately making exciting creative decisions for the reader is the beauty, but also the fear, of creative work. When corporations are involved and millions of dollars are at stake, the pressure is certainly immense. But in the end it turns out that it is people like the young Ridley Scott who create films that burn themselves into the cultural memory of a generation. There was a lot of opposition to his idea for Alien, but he had the courage to take the risk and realise his vision. And what James Cameron was able to do with Aliens was nothing short of a magnificent creative achievement. What I'm saying is that as an artist/writer you always have to deal with the tension between what the readers or viewers give as feedback and what you have as an idea in your head. The viewers don't know the whole story and at best make a judgement on what they know of the story. Of course, it often happens that the viewers/readers see something in the story that the author didn't have in mind. For me, it was that I found it inspiring that the aliens are something completely unfamiliar. Above all, the clash between the absolutely unfamiliar and humans and, in this case, something absolutely threatening, was the appeal of the story for me. However, Prometheus showed that this was not Ridley Scott's idea. He had in mind that the aliens were basically always a failed bioweapon technology that was created by humans themselves in the form we know. Man rebuilds himself, his creation turns on him and creates the creatures that will subsequently: "come in here and get us", to paraphrase Hudson from Aliens. In somewhat philosophical terms, this is the idea that man creates the conditions for his own extinction; so-called anthropofugalism. I myself find this circular reasoning simply boring. That's why the whole development since Prometheus doesn't sit well with me, apart from the fact that the film looks impressive, but in terms of the protagonists and unfortunately also how the story is told, it's simply awful. It doesn't look much better with Covenant, which is simply not a good film and certainly doesn't come close to the first two parts. Entertainment industry and weird fans or not, Scott ultimately bears the responsibility for his own work.

I know people have concerns but they should at least give it a try. The Plot works for the young Cast, you have these folks who have been Born on or brought to a Shake and Bake Colony that is in the process of being Teraformed. They have been brought up on a World they can not explore, they do not see any Sun Light. They are not really free, having to grow up in such a limited environment... imagine being a Child in such a boring environment. Now grown up this group of youngsters want OFF this World. So for the Plot it works, these guys will not be experienced they will be vulnerable. And have no idea what they are getting themselves into. I don't think we will be pushed any Woke Agenda, and while the Cast is diverse.... i can't see this being a Problem. Its if they are written and acted as Anoying Characters thats the Concern.... and if you have Anoying Characters and ones that you can not Connected with and so have no Care for... Then the Horror Elements will revolve around GORE and Jump Scares etc

Disney owns the rights to Alien... that should tell you all you need to know. Then again we might get a peach like Predator: Prey... but I will not hold my breath... I would hope they would decannonize those flicks with the exception of the ship designs...
